This Small Favor
The Team, having taken agreed to take on the task of breaking out The Klehnak from the penal system of Frye are loaded down with information and make plans to break her out.
Entering the system, they cover their presence by allowing themselves to be "destroyed" in an attack in the asteroid field. Moving stealthily and with great patience, they eventually get close enough to the prison rock where their target is being held. Weeks of planning and patience pay off when they are able to break into the prison and free her.
Dee decides to free the stunningly beautiful and apparently innocent Hottia Messicus as they were escaping.
On the way out, they are attacked by a few zombie guards which are handily dispatched; Tomalandarian uses her staff to dust a few of them herself.
On the way out, they unleash Jiminy the Space Cricket, a particularly dangerous space critter, heretofore thought to be untameable - and perhaps still is; it has reacted positively to the bond that Dee and Lady of the Blue have (their Musical Strangeness).
Managing to escape from the barricaded system, The Klehnak tells them of her new philosophy concerning her quest for rebellion against the Royal Hegemony. While being interviewed in Highspace, Hottia shows an incredible dislike of holy things, especially holy water. The crew has to subdue her, and during the battle, Dee finds out that his dragon fire has a holy aspect to it that he wasn't aware of before, able to cause great damage to unholy beings. Eventually they find out that she has a Darkrider.
Turning The Klenahk over to the Pirate Queen and reuniting with their crew who had a splendorific time on Serenity triggers another round of negotiations which sees Debreu and crew agreeing to enter into a one year contract with her; Debreu will serve as an honorary Pirate Captain during this time and enjoy the privileges of such.
