Rudigaer Splinterbane

Rudigaer was born in a halfling family of woodworkers in the vicinity of Kirkthavs. The family was in service of the house van Sperr who owned the land and enjoyed a very good relationship with the nobles. Its roots though went back to the northern Hiyndurill Forest.
Rudigaer broke with the tradition of the family and instead joined the house guard. His upbeat demenour was highly appreciated by everybody around the household and he often joined the young lady of the house - Ysolde - as her personal bodyguard.
When in late 436 YoU the situation around Kirkthavs started to become dire by the appearance of unknown monsterns as many trained soldiers had left for the war against the elves in the west Ysolde gathered volunteers - the Wolf Pack - to patrol Kirkthavs and its surroundings. Rudigaer naturally joined her and fought at her side against undead and cultists the settled in the area. While highly motivated the small group was no match for the dangers and found themselves quickly on the defensive as the cult took over the church of the Child.
In 438 YoU Bloddwyn Bluainach and his companions came through the town on their way north to Rykthaven. Hearing about the troubles the strangers took lead and organised an attack on the church. While the Wolf Pack hold of the zombies outside Bloddwyn and his companions battled through the church and its dungeon killing all demons and cultists.
As the two parties celebrated at Roland Duuk's tavern lady Elizabeth van Olander, wife of the ruler of Kirkthavs, interrupted the festivities to accuse Bloddwyn Bluainach of murdering Adelberg van Kymden. Out of thanks for the groups service in defeating the cultists she forwent to arrest him, but baned him from the city.
Ysolde had previously agreed to travel to Rykthaven with the Wolf Pack as they heard about the church of Caldys looking for volunteers to join an order to fight monsters. By finding out that Bloddwyn was trained by them and seeing his performance in Kirkthavs her conviction was strengthened, even though his crime shocked her. Refusing to go with Bloddwyn's party the Wolf Pack made they way north by themselves a few days later.
In Rykthaven the 'Alchemist' accepted them to the blood hunters and initially introduced Ysolde and Wilbert to the ranks and later Rudigaer and Lorrik.
