The Champion's Retreat

Adventurers, Mercenaries, and Vagabonds Welcome. All others need not apply.
The Champion's Retreat is an inn/tavern owned by Olaf Greycoat, which exclusively caters to adventurers and their like. It was founded by Olaf specifically to meet and support such individuals, inspired by the stories he'd head.

Food and Drink

Olaf is an experienced cook and, while not particularly specialized in anything, knows recipes from a variety of cultures. Just about any type of food can be ordered at the tavern, which Olaf will prepare with little notice or time. He has, inexplicably, never turned down a food request, no matter how exotic.   Similarly, the bar has an unusually wide selection of drinks that can be ordered, and no one thus far has managed to order a drink that Olaf couldn't produce without making it up entirely. While the selection is wide, Olaf himself is an astute connoisseur of elven wines. He proudly displays a variety of such bottles behind his bar, and often encourages his guests to sample them.   All food and drink is served at quite a high price, though it is discounted for members.

Rooms

The Champion's Retreat is first and foremost an inn where rooms can be rented for adventurers to rest safely in.

Supplies

Olaf keeps a large stock of common adventuring gear, which he sells to his guests. His prices are not always the best, but he always seems to have everything in stock.

The Wall of Champions

On prominent display in the tavern downstairs is a section of the wall covered in framed photographs. These photographs were taken by Olaf himself using a "photo taker" device he purchased in Karlodar some time ago, which is also displayed in a glass case on the bar itself. The photographs display Olaf himself alongside various adventuring parties that have come to the Champion's Retreat over the years. Olaf's proudest photo, which was taken at the opening of his inn, was taken with the heroes: Opal, Ira, and Raina, for whom the inn was named.   Above the wall, Olaf lists a series of criteria for getting your photo taken.

Membership and Services

In addition to being exclusive to adventurer's, the Champion's Retreat offers a membership program to those who prove themselves capable. This membership comes at a yearly fee, which offers discounts and additional services to members.

Contents & Furnishings

The tavern room downstairs is a large space with plenty of tables and booths for groups to sit, which are rarely full. There is also a bar that can be sat at, though it is a little on the short side.   One of the most notable features of the Champion's Retreat are the windows, which open to natural light and beautiful meadows, even when entering from somewhere underground, like Karlodar. All of the windows in the Retreat are, in fact, magical, and Olaf changes where they lead to from time to time, when the mood for new scenery strikes him.

Architecture

The general architecture inside does not adhere to any one type of interior design. There are bits of human, dwarf, and elven all mixed together in the cozy interior. From the inside, most of the building appears to be made of wood, with hardwood floors and plastered walls decorated with homely etchings. There are many glass windows, which let in natural light (from somewhere or another).
