The Bodhana Spire
Tower of the Elements
Purpose / Function
The Bodhana Spire is the largest man-made monument dedicated to metaphysics in all of Zamzara. No actual studies or research were ever conducted here - its construction was to honor The Elements and all that Humanity had learned about them within the previous 2000 years. Dozens of Elementalists, a handful of engineers, and hundreds of workers toiled under these instructions, ignorant of the real truth of their duties. They were content to create one of the most awe-inspiring structures in the Zamzian Empire and none asked unnecessary questions.
Today, the intent behind its creation is unknown, lost to time after The Kalyugi annihilated many imperial records. It still serves its intended function, unaware and uncaring of the passage of time.
Architecture
Wrought in solid gold, the Bodhana Spire radiates for all the world to see, shining from tip to toe. Nearly 250 meters tall, it is the tallest building ever built and twists upward - the tower looks as if a single massive golden pillar was wrapped around something, then pulled and twisted from the tip of the Spire. The only entrances are on the ground floor, and no windows can be found anywhere in the tower. Each floor of the Spire is painted a different color, each as vivid as the last. A marvel of engineering, the secrets of its design are as lost to time as its original purpose.
History
Emperor Huangzi announced the plans to begin construction of the Bodhana Spire in 2119 AC - for centuries various scholars and magi spent life and energy to unravel the foundations of reality, and the Spire was to be the culmination of all the knowledge accumulated over time focused into a single grand creation. Two years later, in 2121 AC, the blueprints were finalized and the site had been chosen: Construction began. Ten years later, after the death of Emperor Huangzi in 2131 AC, the Spire was completed after nearly non-stop work. As a succession crisis broke out, civil war loomed over the Zamzian Empire and the Spire was ignored in favor of more pressing issues. No soldier would ever return to the Bodhana Spire as The Kalyugi laid waste to all civilization, causing the golden tower to be abandoned and forgotten by its creators, serving as a beacon for greedy adventurers with more avarice than sense.
I'm very curious about this: especially the final line there. What makes it so dangerous now? What lives there? Tell us more! :D

Sorry, my players have to get there and find out what it is first! It wouldn't be as mysterious if I said what was waiting, would it?
*Dun dun dunnnnn!*

I do hint at it in the "Truth of the Spire" section, though. (Read it while you can, I'm re-secreting it after the contest is done)
Oh, I really like that. <3 Great pice of writing
