Yama's Head
The End of the World
"He gripped Raktasati with both hands, and poured his soul into the blade. When next He swung, heaven and earth trembled before Him and Yamavati was laid in twain. Heaving with all His might, He then cast the peak into the sky, where it fell into the sea years later. Its fall was heralded with black skies and fevered tides, and the waves it made drowned those unfortunate enough to live near the ocean..."
- The Oral History of the First Dynasty
Geography
Very few people have traveled to Yama's Head and returned to tell the tale, and those that have claim that it is the boundary of the world, the end of Zamzara. They speak of a vast and singular mountain rising from the ocean that nearly reaches the clouds, and an impossibly dense rainforest at its base. Strangely, the summit of Yama's Head appears to be bowl-shaped, rather than ending in a ridge or peak. The closest section of land is Ying's Marsh, nearly 50 miles to the northeast - unfortunately for sailors, the waters around here are even more violent than usual. Many a captain has chosen to sail through a storm instead of braving the waters near Yama's Head.
Fauna & Flora
Only the outskirts of Yama's Head have been explored in any capacity, and even then, for less than a single day. The monsters here are innumerable, vicious, and coordinated. As soon as the first explorers set foot on the island, they were swarmed by monsters of nearly all types - they burst out of the ground as beasts lumbered from the rainforest and birds began to swoop at them from overhead. It is assumed that this was the fate of most explorers who came too close to the island, but the sea has washed away any wreckage that once lay there, and Yama's Head remains as pristine and untouched as the day it was made.
Natural Resources
Unknown for sure. There are clearly natural resources to be exploited on the island, but the monsters make it nearly impossible to explore it and discover what secrets are hidden there. It is assumed that there is an entrance to The Nashya here, based on the number and strength of monsters. The scant records of various explorers over the years indicate some very rare beasts, but only the strongest or most foolhardy of men would view this as a business opportunity.
