Old Capital
The Old Capital was the capital of the New Abrizan Empire until its destruction in 1235 D.E.
Geography
The old capital was built atop a mountain, and as it grew in size, it descended down the interior and exterior. It was constructed to be easily accessible to dragons, but difficult for non-dragons to besiege. If you couldn't fly, you had to walk up a road to get to the city. Draconians who didn't have wings would sometimes use flying chariots pulled by a Gryphon, or an elevator inside the mountain.
During the reign of Kalamzaresh, the area around the old capital was fertile, and contained many farms. This ended when the Circle of Mages attacked the city with a giant cloud of Dragonbane, which spread further and persisted longer than they anticipated. It was supposed to simply dissipate, but instead it seeped into the land. As it spread, all of the plants in the area died, and now the old capital and the area surrounding it are a wasteland where nothing living can survive. This old magic is now a permanent part of the land, as irremovable as the dirt or the air.
Today, the entire area is surrounded by The Wall, which was built by The Baneguard in order to keep people away from the last remnants of Dragonbane.
