Session 023 - Muck and Revenge

The story so far
Athena's family was slaughtered as part of a conspiracy carried out by Clan Hamlen. She has learned that the Hamlen's have been having troubles of their own with their much-valued fishing harbor suffering from blight. What is going on and can it assist in her plans for revenge?
Athena travels home to the Kingdom of Rethem to investigate, starting her quest at the infamous Looted Mounds.
Continuation of Session 22 - Curses
Rest and Roving Doom
The heroes rest at night, this time outside the Looted Mounds but are attacked by Gigantic Albino Bats. They were eventually driven off.
On the way back to the Mounds they encounter a band of Companions of Roving Doom warriors led by Sir Bednar. They are seeking for a criminal; a black haired warrior called Kimar who wields a Bastard Sword who has been causing trouble in the Region. Athena has a brief conversation with these warriors, identifying herself and almost taunting them to attack, but eventually, the two groups part ways.
Back at the Looted Mounds.
The Heroes continue searching the Looted Mounds. As Athena on her horse Zeva passes over a concealed mound, the ground suddenly her gives ways, and they fall into darkness. Athena and Zeva find themselves in complete inky blackness radiating from some strange Magical Oozes. The creatures attack with pseudopods which inflict cold and acid damage. When these Oozes were struck with metal weapons cold was transmitted back onto the attackers. Fortunately, Quazzy could see through the darkness and was able to direct the rest of the party who braved the shadows to aid Athena. Zeva was taken down and eventually Athena as well, but the oozes were eventually destroyed by a combination of magic from Quazzy and Yureb's shadow blade.
The party investigates the insides of the burial mound, finding the remains of a Morgathic Priest, possibly a looter from a century ago. On his body are a Magical Ring and a distinctly evil scroll on magically preserved human flesh.
Poisoners
After thoroughly searching the Mounds the party finds no evidence of any blight, they decide to travel down the river to the Manor of Cedury. Checking with the locals they find nothing suspicious, but they do learn that the Earl of Ithiko is employing the Company of the Argent Wyvern who appear little more than thugs, demanding "taxes" from any who appear to have assets. They are feared and despised.
Entering the marsh between Cedury and the Hamlen Manor of Deya, Yureb finds some signs of blight a trail leading west. Following it, they are ambushed by a Troll with his pet Giant Boar. This troll had poisonous blood and was somewhat challenging, only the cunning use of spells to distract it, enabled the party to defeat it.
Not far away the hero encounters a small hut. Inside is a man Athena recognizes, Valim Doldrin, son of a friend of her father. From him, she learns that he is the only survivor from his family who were murdered when bandits attacked Athena's family estate. He was severely injured required a few days to recover. At Castle Ithiko he saw several of the bandits who attacked him wearing the uniform of the Company of the Argent Wyvern. He later learned that they were conspiring with Clan Hamlen and he sought revenge. He spent the last of his family fortune improving his skill in Alchemy and developed a Toxin which he has been using to "blight" the Hamlen estates.

Ring of the Night Lion - A ring which imbues the wearer with Cats Grace once per day.
Clerical Spell Scroll -On preserved Human Skin (Magic of the God Morgath).

The Heroes discovered the source of the blight, the former dye merchant Valim Doldrin.
