Session 9: Sails on the Horizon Report

General Summary

Finally some pirate action. Moe Boom spotted sails on the horizon during the late hours of the evening which turned out to belong to a ship called The Man's Promise. Upon bringing this to the attention of Master Scourge, Barnabus Harrigan was awoken who quickly brought everyone on deck for emergency sailing duties. The Wormwood began to pursue the ship, and adrenaline was high for your first bit of pirating.   Each of you were given rigging duties to ensure that the ship would be able to catch up and overtake your prey. You all chose to work diligently, maybe as a result of not getting to enjoy the night's rest. Eventually, your ship gained on The Man's Promise, and you were summoned by Riaris Krine for your orders. Riaris instructed you to take the aft decks, secure the wheel, and prevent anyone from using one of the life boats to leave. They did not seem to want to entertain any questions, and instead put Moe in charge of the landing party. As the gap closed between the ships, missile fire began to be exchanged as magical fog started to roll in. You managed to hit a few of the sailors aboard before readying your grappling hooks to board.   The Wormwood rammed into The Man's Promise and cheers rang out. Pirates began to toss their hooks over to secure the connection. Planks were brought out to make it easier to board. You all crossed using the skills taught to you the day prior. You climbed aboard an immediately were forced to defend yourself. You managed to secure the Aft deck in under 30 seconds, secured the life boats, and Magnum Opus was able to warn the captain before he was stabbed in the back. Sandara Quinn met up with you while aboard and gave you Poseidon's blessing. At some point most of you were knocked unconscious by wounds, but thanks to Big Pharma and some various healing magics you survived the battle. In total you managed to kill 14 sailors including 1 officer. With that, the days was your.   The crew of the Wormwood was exuberant, yelling out cheers of victory. After a short wait, the plunder was shared and you were given your reward for all of the hard work you had been subjected to. It seems it is good to be a pirate...   Now, you have a non-stop party, and a well earned rest off the back of your victory. Well fought, ye' scurvy dogs!
