Session 05 - Descent

General Summary

  • After some further searching, the Radiants found and descended into a mire-infested cave network. 
  • It was here that they encountered the Mire Shades, a variety of humanoid creatures who appear to be made up of the Mire. 
  • It was also here that they found several piles of orbs, which appear to react to Radiance in some way, absorbing it and beginning to emit a soft glow. These orbs could also be inserted into various sconces to open doors. 
  • After many encounters with increasingly intelligent Mire Shades, a brief detour with fear-inducing hallucinogenic mushrooms, and briefly being trapped in a room full of broken shale rock, the Radiants opened the door to a large chamber, featuring an incredibly large shade, who is summarily defeated. 
  • On the plinth inside, the Radiance find a red shard, similar to the one found in the cave at the top of Talin Peak. This shard, Abek believes, is one of the god siblings that must be returned home. With shard in hand, the Radiants make it back to the surface.
  • It is then decided to briefly visit the Zunthr before making their way to the next likely location, found somewhere in Hundri territory.
