Session 12 - The Ritual Report

General Summary

With the wreckage of the Silver Lining thoroughly scavenged, Jondam began the ritual to connect with Mazarathes. For awhile, the ritual progressed slowly, as Moxie, Dac, Rayla, and Feyre stood watch. However, it soon became apparent that something was wrong with the ritual as Jondam showed signs of difficulty in breathing.

Rayla quickly answered the call, seeking to check on Jondam, but when she interrupted the ritual circle, a blast of divine energy erupted from him, knocking the group unconcious.

In the haze of unconciousness, each member of the party had a sort of dream or vision. Rayla saw herself re-living the last night she was will her friend Willow Meadowstride as darkness engulfed Hollow and the Fey Gate. Winnow relived a moment from her past before she was accosted by several skinned figures angrily attackign her while screaming "He chose you!" Dac encountered an image of Naltyr who told Dac that something was taken from an ancient oak in the Outer Wilds to the city. She implored him to find it. Feyre experienced a dreamlike vision of the future -- depicting her as a sort of tyrannical queen of Novus while married to Dimitry Laikanov. Each of the dreams ended with some form of darkness engulfing them, with an unsettling voice proclaiming that nothing, not even a God could stand before the Darktide.

When the party awoke, it was clear that some time had past and the Miasma storm had desceneded upon the wreckage, breaking through a magical barrier erected by the ritual. The party sprung into action to fight back motes of miasma that shiftingly coalesced between noxious fog and writhing, misshapen jaws and flesh. Meanwhile, Jondam struggled to break free from the ritual. When he came to, he created a sanctuary of light to protect the group from miasma. The situation appeared dire, with many of the party falling at various points, but with the help of Jondam and Nutsy, they were able to quickly escape to the Golden Rule
