Jondam Klefta
Overview
Jondam Klefta is the representative official of the faith of Mazarathes to The Council of the Hallowed Abbey. He represents the sect of Mazarathes faithful to believe the nascent god to be a being of goodness and virtue, and seek to campaign for his continued inclusion in matters of the Council and consideration of the Vespalan pantheon.
For Jondam, this faith is intensely personal. Jondam was once a criminal and pirate who was a member of the crew of the skyship the Silver Lining. The ship was destroyed in a storm while on a smuggling run outside of Novus. Miraculously, Jondam lived and was able to save many of his fellow crew thanks to his new found blessings of healing magic from Mazarathes. Moreover, the survivors of the Silver Lining were lost in the Outer Wilds. According to Jondam, he and the survivors were led back to Novus by a dark cloaked figure.
Jondam became a central figure in the Council's efforts to understand Mazarathes, but belief in the newborn god began to spread, first to the other survivors of the Silver Lining and then to other citizens of Novus. The Council however was already aware of several dark cults to Mazarathes and was concerned that these cults would seek to influence (or be influenced by) the new deity for evil. They chose to recognize Mazarathes as a part of the pantheon, hoping that positive influence would combat any darkness that Mazarathes represented.
Jondam is now the figurehead of this new religion, carrying the weight of everything that entails. On the Council, Jondam is careful to not over extend his voice, as it is thanks to the very people he serves along side that his is there in the first place.
