  [7:55 PM] DM: DAY 3 NOON BELLBURY TIME (7 Jaqmont 3Y20   When last we left, the party was in the city of Serinar in a potions shop with a charmed shopkeeper and a strange bird-like creature named Coin. Coin, held at the end of Enna's shortsword, told the party that he would give them the MAGIC SHARD?! if they would help retrieve an item from the top of a tower.(edited)   [8:18 PM] DM: Ravaphine and Cyan both suddenly blink out of sight, Poni's control rod falling to the floor where Ravaphine had been standing.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   [7:42 PM] DM: DAY 3 NOON BELLBURY TIME   Urrak has had an hour and a half to herself back in Chaldra when she's once more back in Bellbury's town square. It's a bit quieter this time. No music from the Cask at this point. It's about noon, but there seem to be fewer people about than there have been.   [8:15 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak wanders down into the kitchen and grabs a bite of meat. She remembers being in the basement ready to teleport to the next component before she was poofed away. After taking in her surroundings, an odd sense of dread falls over her. But, being a woman on a mission, she decides to head back to Poni's and find the others.   [8:16 PM] DM: There were still some patrons in the tavern and a man in the kitchen watching the food, but it just seems like less than there were the day before.   [8:17 PM] DM: When you reach the basement, the portal is alive with wild energy and in the 'screen' you can see Enna with a shortsword pointed at a weird bird-like creature about 5 feet tall. Brimeia, Seirixori, and a man are standing there as well, all in conversation.   [8:19 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "What in the world..." Urrak mutters to herself. She looks at the screen a moment, her mind trying to work out what it's seeing, before drawing her sword and heading into the portal.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   [8:20 PM] DM: Urrak suddenly appears as if stepping out of thin air, sword drawn.   [8:23 PM] DM: Coin and the shopkeep both jump back, surprised.   [8:23 PM] DM: Coin, feeling the tip of Enna's sword in his back steps forward again immediately.   [8:22 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna looks at Urrak appearing out of thin air, and says "Perfect timing. Nice of you to join us."   [8:22 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "What in the nine hells is goin' on 'ere?"   [8:27 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori picks up Poni, "We're possibly going to help this guy here so he'll give us the component."(edited)   [8:28 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "And what's he expectin' in return?" Urrak asks as she re-sheaths her greatsword.   [8:29 PM] DM: Coin: "I give you the MAGIC SHARD!?" When he says 'magic shard,' it's said in Brimeia's voice in a demanding tone.   [8:31 PM] DM: His voice is a combination of other people's voices in odd intonations.   [8:29 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "We have to help him...get into a tower? Is that right?"   [8:30 PM] DM: Coin: "Yes. Master Bakar's tower."   [8:31 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Let's go."   [8:32 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "This is some questionable stuff, but I've seen jus about everythin' at this point." Urrak sighs and turns towards Enna "Where to?"   [8:33 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Our feathered friend here was just about to lead the way."   [8:34 PM] DM: Shopkeep: "I think we can all put our weapons away now, yes? It's making me nervous. A lot of breakables in here."   [8:36 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Well soon we'll be away from the breakables, won't we?"   [8:37 PM] DM: Coin: "No weapons on streets. Guards come."   [8:37 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori puts her staff down, "Yes, let's not draw anymore unwanted attention."   [8:39 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Agreed. Enna I know y' don't trust 'em as far as ye can throw 'em, but let's do as he asks for now"   [8:39 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "How far is this tower?"   [8:40 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna lowers her sword. "As long as we all keep our guards up."   [8:42 PM] DM: Shopkeep: "It's a few blocks away. You can't miss it."   [8:43 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Let's get on with it then."   [8:45 PM] DM: Coin sheathes his rapier. "Come, come. Will be quick if you smart."   [8:46 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Lead on." Seirixori moves to follows Coin.   [8:46 PM] DM: Coin steps out of the shop and into the busy street, but immediately ducks into the nearby alleyway.   [8:48 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna follows behind   [8:48 PM] DM: He's standing there waiting.   [8:48 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia also follows   [8:49 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Oi, y'flighty bird wait up", Urrak lumbers into to alley after everyone(edited)   [8:49 PM] DM: As you all follow, Coin leads you on a winding path across town utilizing back alleys and tunnels where possible. You get the feeling he probably tends to stay out of sight as much as possible.   [8:50 PM] DM: Coin: "I am not a 'y'flighty bird'. I am a kenku. Cannot fly." He, again, says y'flighty bird in Urrak's own voice.   [8:51 PM] DM: Coin: "Must get ring. Then (he makes the sound of coins being stacked in a pile) can fly."   [8:51 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak is creeped the fuck out by the kenku   [8:52 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "I...see..."   [8:52 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Welcome to the perturbed club."   [8:54 PM] DM: After several minutes, you find yourself standing in a part of town that's a bit less dense. The buildings are farther apart and there are much fewer people.   [8:55 PM] DM: Coin lifts a hand and points at a tower, a terribly unstable looking tower with part of the side blown out of it. People walking by seem to be giving it a wide berth like they're afraid it might collapse at any moment.   [8:55 PM] DM: Coin walks right up to it and opens the door.   [8:56 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Yer goin' in there? It looks fit to fall apart at any minute!"   [8:57 PM] DM: Coin: "Hard to find ring after."   [8:57 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak begrudgingly follows Coin(edited)   [8:58 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "After what?"   [8:58 PM] DM: Coin makes the sound of rubble falling.   [8:58 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna follows after, looking up at the precarious building   [9:01 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Great, into a crumbling building. Fun." Seirixori deadpans and follows.   [9:01 PM] DM: Approaching the tower, you can see that the tower stands crooked and heavily damaged. There's evidence of cracks in the stonework as though the shifting tilt of the tower is causing extra stress on several of the stones. You can see why people tend to stay away. It does look like an incredibly unstable structure. There is a door along the southern curve that Coin has opened.   [9:03 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Uh, well why did the tower fall apart?" Brimeia asks, wondering if some kind of magical catastrophe had happened here like it had back in Bellbury.   [9:04 PM] DM: Coin: "Master Bakar was working. Then (he makes a sound of explosions and fizzing pops like a firecracker store caught on fire)."   [9:05 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Sounds like our friend, the stick"   [9:05 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Ugh, magic," Brimeia grumbles under her breath.   [9:05 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Oh, even better, more idiots with magic."   [9:05 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Wizards with explosives. Wonderful."   [9:09 PM] DM: Opening the door, you see a small room, completely enclosed. The walls are un-plastered stone like the exterior. There's a rune carved into the stone directly ahead, the edges worn like they've been touched many times over the years.   [9:09 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Well hopefully that doesn't happen again, least while we're in 'ere." Urrak looks around a bit "So, where's this ring yer huntin' for?"   [9:10 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: ((15 investigation?))   [9:10 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "So uh... what was Master Bakar trying to do exactly?" "You go ahead and get the supplies. I'll be working on the new evocation spell. I think maybe 'Dragon's Wrath' for a name."   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   [9:01 PM] DM: Nolanos finds himself going about his day as normal when he's suddenly standing in the center of a town square he doesn't recognize. There are some larger buildings, one that looks like a tavern and another that looks like a temple, but the square is empty... all except for a dwarf woman in chainmail with red hair staring at you.   [9:02 PM] Nolanos: "um... hello? where.. where am i exactly?   [9:03 PM] DM: "Ah, a new one, I see. As far as we can tell, we're in Bellbury. It's all a great long story, but we've got good people trying to fix the problem. My name's Gunnloda, at your service." She holds her hand out to you.(edited)   [9:06 PM] Alex - Nolanos: its a pleasure to meet you shakes hand   [9:07 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "Would you like a drink? Or I can try to explain things."   [9:07 PM] Alex - Nolanos: Both? Both is good   [9:08 PM] DM: Gunnloda laughs heartily. "Excellent choice."   [9:08 PM] DM: She puts a hand on your shoulder and leads you towards the tavern where she pulls a mug of ale for you.   [9:09 PM] Alex - Nolanos: " Cheers" raises mug. "And thank you for this generosity"   [9:10 PM] DM: "Come. I'll show you the culprit." She leads you back out and south. Eventually you come across a smallish house that's burned to a husk. She leads you downstairs to the basement where a magical portal stands.   [9:11 PM] Alex - Nolanos: God, what happened here?   [9:11 PM] DM: Looking through the portal, you can see two tieflings, an elf, a half-orc, and a strange bird-like creature standing outside of a tower.   [9:12 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "This gnome named Poni was playing with arcane magic and building this contraption. Something bad happened and ZAP! We were all ripped away from our lives. These people are trying to fix it. If we walk through, we can join them, but it's not without danger. You look like you can handle yourself, though."   [9:14 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "Danger? Danger is my middle name" Nolanos tries seem smooth but it ends up being really awkward and he knows it. "... heh."   [9:15 PM] Alex - Nolanos: Clears throat. "No but seriously I'm on it"   [9:17 PM] DM: Gunnloda shakes her head. "If you say so. I think I'll join you though. These folks tend to get in more trouble than they should."   [9:17 PM] DM: She steps through the portal and you can see her inside the picture now.   [9:17 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "Alrighty then." I brought someone new along. I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name."   [9:20 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Gunnloda!" Seirixori blurts out, glad to see her.   [9:21 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "Hello, dear."   [9:21 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "I think it's safe to say we know then what was the culprit of the ----great, another one."   [9:24 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia is a bit startled by the sudden appearance of two figures and begins to reach for her greataxe but relaxes when she sees the familiar face of Gunnloda along with an unfamiliar one. "Ah! A new companion!"   [9:21 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "Hi everyone, my name is Nolanos, and this here" gestures to the clockwork raven on his right shoulder "is Reyes. I tink tinkering is fun." He immediately realizes that was a horrible joke but goes with it anyway   [9:22 PM] Alex - Nolanos: another what?   [9:22 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna unsheaths her shortsword once again, approaching Nolanos and pointing it at the raven. "What is that? Who are you?"   [9:22 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "I - I just told you."   [9:22 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: It's apparent she's acting on instinct   [9:22 PM] Alex - Nolanos: ?   [9:24 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna sneers, eyeing the dragonborn with fire in her eyes "It's an abomination."   [9:25 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Enna, please, we're trying to avoid fighting right now."   Gunnloda: "Now dear... there's no need to be drawing your weapon on a new friend."   [9:26 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "I wouldn't consider anyone who plays at being a god anything akin to a friend."   [9:26 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "It's a great thing I don't consider myself one then."   [9:27 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "A friend?"   [9:27 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "A god"   [9:21 PM] DM: Coin: "This rune is teleportation. Activated by Master Bakar's voice, but it doesn't work since he died."   [9:22 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Y' don't remember what the man sounded like?"   [9:22 PM] DM: Coin opens his mouth and you hear Master Bakar repeat an incantation. "He died. Magic stopped working."   [9:23 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak walks to the left hand wall, greeting Gunnloda as she passes. She places a hand on a odd bit of mortar   [9:23 PM] DM: You can feel the stone shift under your fingers like if you gave it a good push, it would move.   [9:23 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Magic is dangerous business. Half o' those who use it, shouldn't" Urrak pushes the stone   [9:25 PM] DM: The stone swings open! It's a secret door, possibly put there as a failsafe in case Master Bakar ever locked himself out.   [9:26 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: Urrak is so fascinated by the door she almost doesn't hear what's happening with the newcomer. "Oi, you lot, look 'ere!"   [9:27 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "Th - there's a door now?"   [9:27 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Then what, pray tell, do you consider yourself, making things that weren't meant to be?"   [9:28 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "I've known the works of your type, and nothing good ever comes of it."   [9:28 PM] DM: You are all standing outside the tower (the entry's not big enough for everyone). Urrak's inside poking at walls.   [9:28 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Look," Seirixori steps in front of Enna, "let's deal with one thing at a time. Staring straight through Seirixori at Nolanos, she says "Fine. As soon as I make sure of something." She says to Nolanos, "Show me your arms."   [9:35 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "I appreciate the sentiment though"   [9:36 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "I'm not sure what that will prove, but fine" Shows arms   [9:37 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Without the armor. Please."   [9:37 PM] Alex - Nolanos: sighs and removes the armor   [9:38 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "Do you always ask new people to strip?"   [9:38 PM] DM: Gunnloda: "I don't recall being subjected to it myself."   [9:39 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "Yeah, what is all this about anyway?"   [9:40 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna ignores the comment by the dwarf, staring intently at the dragonborn's arms. She sheathes her sword, content and relieved, if only a little. She turns toward the door that Urrak opened and heads over. "I'm good for now. Just keep that thing contained."   [9:40 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "i - Okay?" quickly puts armor back on   [9:40 PM] DM: Peeking through the now open secret door, you see a room, rounded wall along the left side and straight walls to the right. There are two visible wooden doors. The floor here is flagstone and the walls plastered, but there are regularly spaced metal strips along the walls.   [9:41 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori awkwardly pats Nolanos' shoulder and moves into the room.(edited)   [9:41 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Are ye done havin' yer spat? Enna follows into the room.   [9:44 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "There's a raised stone here."   [9:45 PM] DM: Urrak enters the second room? Seirixori says uneasily, but does as she's asked.(edited)   [9:56 PM] Alex - Nolanos: "I'm not the new guy anymore!"   [9:57 PM] DM: Seirixori, you see something behind the open secret door, but you can't reach it because you'd have to shut the door... and Urrak's in the way.   [9:57 PM] Jonathan- Martyn Hornback: "Sorry, what's going on and why does Urrak look nervous?" Martyn asks   [9:58 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Urrak stepped on a thing and I can't check out what it is because Urrak is now in the way of the door I need to look behind. We're doing great."   [9:59 PM] Jonathan- Martyn Hornback: "Does the raven speak? Can the raven look? I'm gonna move, and I don't want ye t' be injured"(edited)   [10:03 PM] Alex - Nolanos: Nolanos nudges Reyes a bit and she flies into the room with the doors   [10:04 PM] DM: And you're using Reyes's senses?   [10:04 PM] Alex - Nolanos: yes   [10:05 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori nods and tries to move around Urrak and leave the room.   [10:05 PM] DM: You all watch as a mechanical raven takes flight and flies over all your heads into the room. Nolanos, you can see there's a box behind the door with tubes for pipes or wires sticking into it. You recognize it as a sort of control box.   [10:06 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "A bloody tin bird....?" Urrak watches Reyes fly into the room, mindful to stay in place   [10:07 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Is there anything we can do to help?"   [10:07 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna backs up out of the room for to make room for Seirixori   [10:08 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Urrak, I can try and pull you out, unless you have other ideas?"   [10:09 PM] Wingy - Urrak D'Akshi: "Aye, I'm gonna jump as far as these legs'll carry me right out the door"(edited)   [10:09 PM] DM: Coin backs out of the room.   [10:10 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Should we move?
