Session 11: Memento Mori Report

General Summary

The party, upon finally making it to Holdenglade, travel to a tavern in San Cherico. the city's main district, where they meet Heato Hiyori - a rune knight in search of a new group. In return for getting healed of his terrible curse, Donevan makes a deal with his God, Ax, to eradicate a Mesilist outpost near the city that is killing Estrialist warriors. So, after the party stock up on new items and health potions from The Faceless Guild, and Averel runs into Grimmelshaw, they all travel outside of Holdenglade's walls to crush the outpost - bar Rostliem who instead decides to play some carnival games at the Day of Founding festival, following his hand being surgically removed by a very agreeable Chain Devil.    The infiltration is a success as Tony and Averel take out some Guards Assassin's Creed style and Donevan and Heato trick the outpost into believing they're inspectors. After all of the guards are killed, they quickly strip the outpost of its artillery, weapons and potions before heading back for Rostliem. Meanwhile, our favourite little wood elf is having the time of his life staring out Cyclopses and eating Kobold Sushi, when all of a sudden, he has a ghostly visit from Ardenyx - the angered revenant who they killed back in Ablefell. He asks Rostliem for the location of Averel and Rostliem obliges - though when the party eventually return to the carnival, he doesn't speak of his encounter.    More party games ensue until they decide to try the main event - Monster fighting in the central tent. Competing against other adventurers such as The Band of Above Average Goblins for the grand prize, the party witness several insane combats against Minotaurs, Scorpions and Hellhounds. Though when it gets to their turn, the entire tent goes dark - and from out of the shadows Ardenyx manifests once more, reminding Averel that he must die. And after setting the arena ablaze, he attacks, downing Heato. Though after being on the receiving end of two powerful Eldritch blasts from Averel that send him reeling, the revenant begins to smile as he unleashes his secret weapon: the Hydra.
