Magic in the Night
The Slyth found us as we camped hours after leaving home. We had to flee towards the mountains and in the process our group was separated. Worse still, I've lost Onyx and am traveling with Lord Sparrowsong. I'm not sure what kind of enchantment Sparrowsong wove on my arrows but they seemed to take down the Slyth in one shot. He's also convinced there is some magic in me, questioning whether my skill with the longbow is from practice alone. All I did was practice what my father has taught me:
Could my father's lessons really be magic? I don't want magic, all I know are the stories.
Seeming to prove Sparrowsong's suspicions, for the second time in my life I've seen a unicorn. This time, though, the unicorn and I 'spoke,' for lack of a better word. Her name was Mother's Stream and she welcomed me as an Oracle, with visions that simultaneously baffled me and made perfect sense. Unicorns, according to Sparrowsong, are the gatekeepers for the web of destiny and they unlock the abilities of oracles. I don't know how to feel about any of this right now and to make matters worse my dreams have become troubling. I saw D'Jym and Mal and they seemed dangerous.
It's probably just the stress and exhaustion of the last day...
