Saxifraga walks around with dignified stride, confident in his deeds and taking no shame in them, as he also nursed many of the victims right after the surrender of Rusicade.
Appearance
Physical Description
A tall slender physique, typically associated with most elves, his age shows a bit through the wrinkles around the corners of his eyes and lips.
Facial Features
Usually he wears a pair of golden glasses with reflective lenses, obscuring his eyes and protecting them from possible fumes and onions. He sports deeply set Harvest Moon orange eyes there are some wrinkles forming around the corners of his eyes.
He sports a clean shave for now, having used beards in the past to hide the tiny long-faded scars of the war.
Identifying Characteristics
He can usually be identified quite easily as one of the few Moon Elves and Dark Elves alike that dabble in Alchemy. Typical of Alchemists he wears a few bottles on his hips and his buckler is engraved and painted in the typical four-element configuration on the front-facing side and a simple alchemical basic circle on the inside.
The most discerning feature however is his floating cauldron, a highly uncommon item one that is sought after by a fair few alchemist, but they are magically bound to the owner upon purchase meaning stealing them is a wasted effort.
Apparel & Accessories
He wears several vials around his waist in a specialized leather holder, this alongside a book hanging from his belt, a backpack and a bandolier he looks like he has packed a tiny pocket for every single situation.
Specialized Equipment
Behind him walks or floats his large Copper Cauldron, the inside is made from plate gold but even the most foolhardy thieves know better than to steal from him. The Kettle alone is worth a lot, but... It is known to be Mirthal's far and wide, he has travelled the world with it and due to the inscriptions he made by hand writing down his favourite recipes and some magical shorthand runes it is quite distinct from other Moving Cauldrons.
Special abilities
He can see the Four Alchemical Ingredients present in anyone and anything in relative amounts and with it fight illnesses or figure out particularly dangerous alchemical combinations.

Personal history
Born in the Lunar Empire, he was born at the dawn of Steam Power and clockwork, as he reached his early teens he got his first demonstration of a train, powered only by steam, another by clockwork and finally a third model train that seemed like it could explode at any second, powered by the energies of alchemy.
Born with an innate gift to sense the alchemical energies in object, animals, plants and so forth he decided to learn alchemy after the train demonstration and a small show by a Alchemist who was travelling the world to learn of more ingredients and how the Anchor appreciated the different forms plants and rocks took.
Mirthal noticed quickly that his gift allowed him only to sense the initial energies, he could never predict how the energies would react together until he learned the hard way that mixing sulfur (three parts fire, one part earth), charcoal (two parts earth, two parts fire) and Saltpeter (three parts earth, on part water) creates a stable fire-energized powder. But adding more fire to purify it into a useable pure fire powder blew up in his face quite literally. Adding water ruined it and so on.
His younger 400 years were spent travelling around the world to learn Alchemy and some of its lesser secrets, securing himself a companion on the way with which he could always experiment. A custom copper walking-and-floating cauldron, the inside lined with the perfect balanced element of Gold, making it the ideal neutral cauldron. He obtained it in the far land of Jaiyuan in the Taiyang Empires.
Around the year 5808 he was drafted into the military, despite his physique he was put on the frontlines with some engineers as their bomb knowledge was needed to bring down the reinforced walls, even the Airships of the Confederation needed several volleys to bring down a wall.
Mirthal and the Head Engineer Aimar Maglee at the time made a friendly wager. The weight of the other in ingredients/parts for the other's profession for whomever could bring the wall down faster. And so they made a small arms race, Mirthal started brewing in his cauldron as he walked towards the walls of the city, confident in ability of his squadron to keep him safe as he quickly synthesized the most unstable and flashy concoction he had prepared yet, adding wind to a mixture of fire and earth.
The Earth contained the fire and wind, which were rapidly desiring to expand, after bottling it he threw it at the wall and ran, ordering an archer to shoot an arrow at the place where he had poured it. The arrow made contact and the next thing that was seen was debris raining from above.
For his victory in the war and his help in mending to all wounded soldiers, he earned the nickname "Saxifraga" - Latin for "wallflower" a flower well-known for both its medicinal properties and its ability to crumble stone into dust when alive and rooting.
After the war he joined the newly formed Adventurer's Guild, as well as some of its sub-branches.
He decided that once the scars between the Lunar Empire and Praetorium had healed some more he would set about to travel again, offering his services as ex-military adventurer to all who needed a doctor, an alchemist, a demolitionist or a gardener. Safe to say with his wide skillset he always did find some work, some more thankful than other.
A few hundred years after the war, his glory as the "Saxifraga" was not so much glorified anymore but rather something that was known, he didn't get much recognition for it aside from his jobs as demolitionist.
Later on when the diesel wars were to break out he was near a volcano, seeing the power of the Anchor shaking the earth in rage as a protest to this devastating war filled him with Awe and Inspiration.
During the Volcanic Eruption he quickly drank a potion that allowed him to hold his breath significantly longer and tied a cloth as a make-shift mask to keep the debris out of his lungs before running towards the houses closest to the volcano, trying to evacuate all he reasoned he could help. In his efforts he saved about 4 families... not even close to what he had hoped but the lava was simply too fast for him to keep going back and forth.
During the following peace-time he took on more oddjobs, jumping into universities from time to time to help with short lectures on explosives, alchemy and so forth.
He mostly kept a steady income by acting as a travelling doctor.
During one of such outings he was in the Kingdom of Logres and came across a panicked red round-faced man that was shouting for help. Apparently his lord and his doctor had been poisoned by a travelling merchant, abiding by his practices as doctor he noticed that the man had been poisoned by a common plant, Wolf's Bane, a poison he was all too familiar with. He had recognised the scent of the tea the instant he raised to cup to his nose and prepared an antidote for the people who had been poisoned immediately.
Apparently the man he had saved had been a Duke, who wanted to show his gratitude to the wandering Moon Elf...
Not too long after this whilst he was still in Logres he met with his old friend Fenja Grunebaum who had at this point made a veritable economic Empire, rolling in cash far more than he ever had. They caught up on the old times, Mirthal explained he was travelling trying to learn more about alchemy and enhance the witch's Hex he had been taught by her. She told him she was there for a Coven Meeting and that if he were a lucky Elf he might be able to meet her teacher Morgan Le Fey herself...
23 years ago, whilst travelling near the borders of Agintu he crossed paths with a small legion, joining it for a while. It was led by General Sukayori who knew him from the Siege of Rusicade. They were to fight a few Light Corrupted creatures to protect the city of Olennor and keep patrolling the area. They were a specialized legion that dealt with Light Corrupted more often than regular armies.
They lost to the overwhelming forces of the supernaturally enhanced Light Corrupted that attacked in an organised fashion, much unlike what even the army was used to dealing with. They soon learned this was because of a Light Warden who was lounging from above the army, watching the devastation unfold with an unnatural grin on all three of it's faces, the frontal face being the most human-like and one covering it's left side of the head had a grin reaching the full width of the "face" with sharp teeth and eyes black like tar. It drove a feral wild fear into him of the pitch darkness as he tried to shake it off to help his comrades in arms, with little success.
The Light Warden noticed the Moon Elf doing what he could, enjoying how this man was struggling against the Light Corrupted to save whomever he could. In a sadistic twist the Light Warden chose to spare only him as he massacred everyone else to isolate Mirthal before letting him run away to spread the delightful fear.
Mirthal ran, and ran until his legs gave out, buckling underneath him as he fainted. He was found by a villager who took him in for some days before he was coherent enough to pen a letter to the Moon Empress and Lord Iantuma. He urged them to take counter measures against the Light Wardens and described some of their abilities he discovered during the siege.
The Moon Empress denounced him for his actions of running away and being unable to save anyone, a warhero like him, even past his prime should have at least saved 1 other person.
His name had not been tarnished yet. He would get a private hearing from her to decide if he would be punished and if so, how severely for his failure to save others...
After the hearing he stayed home for a year, tending the shop normally to make some funds available. Once he had an initial fund of around 10 platinum he contacted Fenja Grunebaum once more. He asked her for a loan for a charity... his charity to be exact, he would setup a medical camp of his own to help and study the Light Corrupted. He needed money for a laboratory in order to research a cure as all the others kept calling him mad and even the countries most concerned with the Light Corrupted had refused him a loan as it was a "wasted" effort. He was currently considered an expert in the Light Corrupted, though there were few experts overall making the title nothing too fancy.
About half a year ago, as he had been making progress on his cure, and thought he had something... if it was... he wouldn't ever know as that night one of the Light Corrupted reached a critical point and started to destroy everything around him, thrashing the camp and laboratory before he was put down. Mirthal was beyond frustration that his progress had been reset once more, a couple days later a messenger arrived from the Moon Empress. She had summoned him for an undisclosed reason...
After his meeting with the Empress he had been informed to go to join a task force in the city of Anstel, a city he knew his way around quite well from his many travels. It was a city that had kept its roads mostly the same ever since his first visit, it was nice and familiar to him. He was to meet up someone at the Emerald Canteen, a place he had seen only two people enter and leave in all the times he had been in the city. It was a very special place...

Formal Alchemical teachings in the Lunar Empire, the Taiyang Empires, the Confederation, the Adventurer's Guild and anywhere else they taught it.
Informal witch-craft training, learning how to curse people with as much as a glare from a companion he travelled with for a couple of years. Fenja Grunebaum, THE Elven Witch who owns the Silver-Song Trading Company, he met in his mid 1100s they had a nice trip together.
Stories of Esoteric Lore being told to him by a couple of travelling Bards and Thaumaturges who told their story for a gold piece to anyone who would listen and Mirthal loves stories.

His main profession he has always practiced is being a doctor.
Accomplishments & Achievements
His largest accomplishment that got him the most fame was his swift assault on Rusicade, bringing down the wall in record time, after sharing the method he used the Confederation gained an edge but a spy caught wind of it and they coated their walls in water-element based sprays making his volatile mixture inert.
A large personal achievement was meeting with the infamous Fenja Grunebaum who taught him a bit of witchcraft after travelling on the road together for years, he taught her some more obscure alchemy in return.
Failures & Embarrassments
He was spared by the Light Warden xxx during the Siege of YYY. It let him run on purpose to spread fear to feed it more.
Mental Trauma
Due to being the sole survivor of the Siege of YYY he has a deep-seated fear of being alone, and one of the Dark.
