Appearance
Physical Description
A snow-white beauty with icey blue eyes and a blue rose in her hair. She looks like the embodiment of the beauty that the cold snow can have.
Her hair is a silvery white, almost blending with her skin due to ther paleness, her eyes look away from people as she is thinking, flickering from person to object to animal, to the sky and further.
She wears an elegant expensive-looking blue silk dress with silver maple leafs embroidered upon it and golden ornaments covering her hands. In her hand she carries an ashen white staff, using it as seemingly a walking aid but carried in her hand lightly enough to be a weapon. Around her waist she wears a whip like a belt, it is hard to make it out as such due to the design of both the dress and the whip. The one last weapon you notice upon her is on her hip, a katana in its sheath. The hilt is pressed with a symbol of a fox.

Personal history
Born as the fifth of the Children of the Grand Shogun Oriana, she was raised with no shortcomings whatsoever, unlike her significantly older siblings she grew up much faster due to not having had the good luck to be born as Kitsune, instead being born as human.
Having to compete with the natural gifts and long lifespans of her siblings she gave it her all and more to sing, dance, orate and more. The great Poets and Storytellers of old that had been inscribed into books were her biggest inspirations to press further beyond her own limits towards exhaustion.
After she learned the most important languages of the court, namely Japanese and Kitsune, she was sent with her elder sister Hanabi who was stationed in Tamura. In Tamura despite her young age she was taught the intricacies of manners at court, as was expected of one of the potential heirs. She learned swiftly how to choose her words so as to plant ideas in a mind without ever explicitly doing so. Hanabi was extremely talented at using honeyed words as well as teaching her younger sister. Hanabi had a gift for fortune telling by reading burned bones and herbs, much like their mother had a gift for fortune telling, Yaeko was however not gifted in this.
At her 12th birthday she was sent to the Academias of Tamura, all trying to woo her with promises as to curry favour with Grand Shogun Oriana. Oriana had no particular care for this academic nonsense and allowed Yaeko to make her own choice.
She chose to enrol in the United Bardic Academia of Heikoku due to her passion for the performance arts and them still having combat-classes and more importantly a distinct course for those of more noble blood.
Despite her infatuation with poetry and stories, the academia had her be taught song as it was easier to perform on the battlefield than an oration. Yet her passion for storytelling burned on as she turned the long prose into smaller pieces of song and poetry she could carry to the battlefield.
From her lessons with the blade she learned to make the wind sing around her blade to give her a whistling tune to inspire dread. Her other weapon of preference was the whip as it allowed for the percussion of drums much like a wardrum except far sharper and clearer whilst also being a real weapon allowing her to use it even on the front-lines.
With all of this combined she learned to turn the battlefield into her stage, singing praises to her troops to rally them onwards and push them to greater heights. During the combat simulations she scored lower than her siblings had when they were enrolled in their own respective academia.
Due to her upbringing and a fortunate gift she turned out to be a natural leader, able to lead the enemies by their nose and her troops by example.
Despite her aptitude for the battlefield, she preferred to learn the art of governing which seemed more interesting to her thanks to the many years of peace Hikokou had known. She spent hours learning how to improve the lives of the everyman and everywoman that served in her provinces.
For her efforts she was rewarded with the same respect as the other children and beholden to the title of "Princess", yet she still suffers from an inferiority complex, constantly comparing herself against her siblings, Hanabi in particular.
Recently graduated, she was sent back to the court of Tamaru to help Hanabi. But there was news going around about clans Koji and Shimakawa having completely disappeared. This prompted Oriana to summon her. She told Yaeko that she was assembling a party to investigate the disappearance and informed her that she would be needed with the expedition.
Her mother gave her a sum of 15 gold pieces and told her to equip herself for the expedition with it, a small test of character for her before she was arranged to move to the harbour where the M.V. Azumi laid in wait.
