Holy shit is that...
Better known to the galaxy by his later title as "Mandalore the Reckoning", Edyssian Bgess began life as Edyssian Vryx-Bgess of the noble house of Vizsla.
Born to Genn Vryx and Alyshia Bgess as heir of clan Vryx of Mandalore, Edyssian entered the galaxy as the sire of a minor noble among his people. Clan Vryx, an ancient and well-respected clan, affiliated with both the noble Houses of Kryze and Vizsla, held dominion over a large estate on Mandalore prior to the Clone Wars. Edyssian was educated in the ways of a Mandalorian from a young age, concurrent with the beginning of the Mandalorian Civil War. Genn, his father, related to both noble houses at contention during this period, professed public neutrality at the beginning of the conflict. However, due to prior loyalties and commitments, clan Vryx would eventually side with Pre Vizsla. With the death of Vizsla at the hands of the usurper Maul, Genn would return clan Vryx to a state of isolation, ignoring requests for aid by his cousin Bo-Katan Kryze.
Remaining in isolation throughout the final days of the Clone Wars and into the reign of the Empire, clan Vryx would suffer privation at the hands of both Mandalorian and Imperial opponents. However, due to the careful, placative nature of Genn Vryx the clan would retain their estates and retainers leading into events of the Night of a Thousand Tears. During this period, Edyssian would complete his education, inheriting his Beskar through his mother's clan. Employed by his father as a house guardsman and outrider, Edyssian spent much of his time in the company of his clan structure traveling among the other clans of Mandalore. Genn, witnessing but not contributing to the Rebellious efforts of Bo-Katan Kryze, hoped to prevent Imperial action against the clan by allying with other neutral clans. This would serve as a major point of contention with Edyssian, whom held little love for the Empire and longed to return Mandalore to its former glory.
When the Empire returned to Mandalore, clan Vryx, despite its documented neutrality, was not spared from the targeted atomic and conventional bombardment. Edyssian, who managed to escape the atomic fire thanks to the superior quality of his inherited beskar, was forced to abandon the suit due to its heavily irradiated nature. With it, the last vestige of his parentage and physical ties to home was gone. With his father killed in the scouring, Edyssian was left as the presumptive elder of clan Vryx. However, the elements that remained of his family were not closely tied, without beskar, without honor, Edyssian elected not to take up his father's position.
Working as a free-lance starfighter pilot Edyssian quickly established a name for himself. Immensely skilled and motivated, Bgess (as he preferred to be called during this period) carved a road of glory through the mid and outer rims. Eventually finding himself in the employ of the Rebellion, Edyssian fought and distinguished himself at the battles of Kiro-Tol, Bothadar and Hoth throughout the Midrim Offensive.
Following the Rebellion's evacuation at the Battle of Hoth, a new Squadron was created to combat a new threat posed by the Empire. Edyssian, as one of the most elite starfighter Aces within the rebellion (despite his mercenary status) was brought aboard to supplement the squadron's relatively low skill level. Under the command of Maximilian Eroun , Edyssian would go on to fight with the Squadron as they conducted their mission in pursuit of the Eclipse. Throughout this period, Edyssian would distinguish himself as a master of his craft, growing his reputation beyond its previously lofty position.
During a mission to Concord Dawn, Black Squadron would make the acquaintance of Kaesha Fulrau, a Mandalorian scout and hunter. Edyssian, having recently reaffirmed his desire to rebuild his clan after encountering the remainder of his once-proud house, welcomed the presence of the young woman. Eventually, following the concurrent Battle of Endor & Rescue Mission to the Eclipse, Edyssian would begin to shift his mindset away from the concerns of the Rebellion. Though still under their employ, Edyssian began to work alongside Adinor Savin , a recent conversion to the Creed with the intent of taking the first step toward a rebirth for Clan Vryx. With the timely return of Drex Nogru during the Rescue Mission to the Eclipse, Edyssian was presented with a gift on behalf of the Iridonian Assembly: The Spear of Mandalore the Ultimate.
Following the death of the Emperor, the Empire began a series of terror attacks later discovered to be a contingency order: Operation Cinder. Worlds across the galaxy were subjected to Imperial Bombardment. Concord Dawn, the last true Mandalorian colony world, was among those targeted by Cinder. Racing back to the world, Edyssian would find it a scorched ruin, barren of all life. Reminded of the fires that had consumed Mandalore and his family, Edyssian Bgess-Vryx made a solemn vow to himself and all of his people. Never again.
Finding the scattered remains of his people hidden within the asteroid belt of the shattered world, Edyssian made his declaration of intent to the surviving Clan Elders. However, the Alor of the Saxon Clan Sczier Saxon opposed Edyssian, offering him a marriage alliance instead. With the survivors under the thumb of Sczier due to her clan's possession of the safe haven, Edyssian was forced to seek out the only artifact that would ensure his legitimate ascent to the throne of the Mandalorians: The Darksaber.
As fate had so carefully arranged, he had found himself in the company of the one person in the galaxy who held the knowledge he sought. Kaesha Fulrau , the keeper of the Darksaber informed Mandalore of the blade's survival and of the location. Though, upon arrival at the former Fulrau estate, agents of clan Saxon would race to reach the blade first. Dispatching these, Mandalore, Kaesha and the other members of Black Squadron would descend to the depths of the tomb below and retrieve the blade. However, during the escape from the prison, Saxon agents would manage to steal the blade, returning it to Sczier.
Edyssian, having not lost the blade in an honorable duel, returned to Sczier's ship, issuing a challenge against the Saxon chief for the blade. Sczier accepted, leading to a calamitous ritual combat aboard the Saxon flagship. Eventually, after a long and tenuous battle, he would emerge victorious. With Sczier's death, Edyssian made a great proclamation and declaration to his people. Mandalore the Reckoning would bring vengeance for their people and security for their children. First to bow before Mandalore would be Bezuayeh Petros Admassu , trusted right arm of Mandalore. Kaesha, seeing the glory of her people returning, would follow suit. Then, all other clan elders would bow before their rightful lord, screaming chants of "For Mandalore!" and "A Reckoning!"
