(Early Life)
 
Eldric was a young man, born in the small village of Hearthstead in the province of Abermia. Elric unfortunately was not so lucky when he was born, he was fragile and weak, the town doctor doubted that he would be able to live his first night. However to the amazement of his grieving parents, he had survived.
 
Young Eldric was born into a poor family, so was not able to afford or be privileged enough to learn how to read or write. Despite this his parents and fellow villagers were confused and bewildered with his sharp mind and astounding wisdom despite being so young. His fellow peers however, were not so impressed and often made no sense to children his age; so he was often bullied and pushed around due to his weaker constitution and strength.
 
His fragile nature stopped Eldric from working on the farm and helping his family, and he was not able to help much in duties around the village, so Eldric would often spend his time in the outskirts of the village exploring. Often encountering small ruins and forgotten structures of the old empire, which he often branded as his “secret hideouts” which he could use to get away from his tormentors in the village.
 
Eldric would spend hours looking over the mysterious ruins and wondering what certain symbols and pictures mean’t. He knew he could never understand their meaning but with not much else to do he would like to spend most of his hours guessing and pondering their meaning. Sometimes making up and playing out fantastic stories of heroes, villains, monsters and women in distress who needed saving.
 
When Eldric turned 13, it was finally his time to attend his “naming day” where he would be deemed an adult and be given an apprenticeship based upon his skills and talents. It was a big ceremony for the town and all of the children who had turned 13 that year would also attend. Masters would select their apprentice and train them personally in their craft or profession.
 
On this particular day Eldric was not a very popular choice for many masters, as his talents were not seen as beneficial for many of the every day labour tasks that needed completing. When Eldric was the last one standing, no one wanted to take him on, in that silence when no one knew what to do with him; a hooded figure emerged from the crowd, declaring himself a master wizard and sage and that he would taken on the boy as his apprentice, it had turned out his parents had been searching for a master to take on Eldric as they knew he had talents best suited out of the village.
 
With both excitement and sadness overcoming him; Eldric packed what little belongings he had and travelled with the master wizard “Cedar”.
 
(The Apprenticeship)
 
“Come ere boy!”
 
“You are a damned slow one ain’t you”
 
The Master Wizard Cedar was a wise teacher, however was an inpatient and often commanding master. Despite Cedar’s remarks and comments, Eldric gleefully and carefully listened to his words, always making sure to take down careful notes.
 
Cedar although at times seeming cruel wanted to make sure that Eldric’s head did not swell up with pride and ignorance; which was the unfortunate fate for some of his other students.
 
Eldric learned much under his Master, he quickly learned to write and read. He completed household tasks and chores to the best of his ability, and slowly began to learn of the world the was always lying under the surface, hidden in plain view, the Empire of Ancient times before the Blight. He was taught the brilliance but danger of magic, and how the Old Empire mastered these arts and how much of this knowledge has been forgotten or lost to the passage of time. Cedar would spend most of his time researching ancient languages, he considered himself more of a historian than that of a wizard.
 
Eldric however, was more intrigued on the old forgotten history of magic or Elan Vital. When old enough Cedar allowed his apprentice to start taking on his own projects, and following his own path of passion (under his careful supervision). Eldric’s passion project was focused on the Old Empire before the Blight, discovering forgotten knowledge, and unlocking the true untapped potential of the Elan Vital.
 
After several years of research, Eldric finished his apprenticeship at the age of 40, and his Master vouched for him before the Tetrahedron Council of Wizards a small group of respected and well known wizards who presided informally over the Northern regions Abermia as an authority group made up of wise and locally respected sages.
 
With his new title “Master Wizard Eldric of the Gladdenstone" (referring to the Gladdenstone tablet, an ancient manuscript who’s knowledge was impossible to decipher; which Eldric had been able to decipher and translate some of the text it contained - albeit only very little). Eldric continues his journey of discovering more hidden secrets of the Elan Vital of the Old Empire, and continues to write more in his tome of knowledge his seeks to pass down, his life work
