Maggot was originally part of the Cragmaw goblin tribe until the ambush he was participating in was defeated by the traveling party of adventurers. He was shortly befriended by some of them (Alphonse, Rosamel, and Vladrek) and was persuaded to travel with them as an adventurer for a time.
