Appearance
Physical Description
While he is of a relatively normal height for a firbolg Griffith is very thin for his race. This gives him a very lanky appearance.
Apparel & Accessories
Griffith has been living on the outskirts of civilization on his own for several years. Because of this his possessions are simple and worn.
Mentality
Personal history
Griffith was born in PLACE NAME to the druid clans. (Need area information from Meghan for this part of backstory, but gist is he hated the druidic ways and the stereotypes associated with druids and firbolgs)
Griffith was expected to become a druid like the rest of his clan and so was made to attend lessons. The only part of these lessons that Griffith did not hate were the moments when the druidic ways and magics dipped into the realm of the arcane. Griffith would often sneak away to practice and experiment with the arcane magics he was learning and he quickly discovered an aptitude for them as well as a deep interest. As time passed and Griffith was being more forcefully pushed towards the druidic path his distaste for the druidic ways developed into a deep loathing. In his personal, hidden studies this loathing drove Griffith to begin to experiment with ways to twist the natural order which the druids were meant to uphold. It was then, hidden deep in the forests that Griffith first delved into necromancy.
He needed subjects on which to experiment and so Griffith began using animals. At first it was only small creatures and in small numbers, but as he progressed and became more obsessed in his pursuit of knowledge he began killing larger creatures and in greater numbers. The rest of the clan began to take notice of the increasing animal deaths and the disturbing state their corpses were sometimes found in. At this point it was well known amongst the clan that Griffith was reclusive and would often disappear for long hours, refusing to tell anyone where he had gone or what he was doing. It did not take long for people to begin suspecting that Griffith was behind what had been happening to the animals.
Knowing that his clan was beginning to suspect him and that his studies into necromancy would soon be discovered Griffith packed everything he owned one night and ran away. In his escape attempt he was discovered by some of his clan members who job it was to patrol the outskirts of their land. Griffith was already generally distrusted by the members of his clan and so the patrol made to take him into custody and force him back to the clan for interrogation and potential trial and punishment. Griffith had longed stopped caring for the members of his clan and would not be stopped from furthering his studies and so it was here that Griffith first took the life of another person. He called upon his necromantic magics to drain the life force from the patrol members before fleeing.
Upon reaching the coast of the island Griffith stole some money and provisions and the first boat he could find and sailed to the nearest neighboring island. As luck would have it the island he arrived at was PLACE NAME where the remains of TOWER were. (Need area and history information from Meghan for this bit of backstory)
Eventually Griffith determined that he had gone about as far in his studies as he could with the materials available to him. If he wanted to continue he would have to leave his hut and seek out more knowledge, more materials, and, if he was very lucky, perhaps a teacher. Decision made, Griffith packed his bags and headed out into the wider world in search of greater knowledge.
Education
While he was still living in his hometown Griffith received the same basic education that all children received. Additionally, his people also attempted to teach Griffith the druidic ways, though he avoided this whenever possible. All of his arcane and necromantic knowledge he has obtained through self study.
Morality & Philosophy
Griffith has long since stopped caring about other people as anything more than a means to an end. He cares about his studies and obtaining new knowledge above all else and he will remove any obstacle in his way through any means necessary.
While Griffith cares little for morals he knows enough to generally keep his head down and remain mostly under the radar as needless killings or overt acts of necromancy or other law breaking are more likely to hinder him than help.
Personality
Motivation
Griffith is obsessed with the arcane and necromancy more specifically. He is driven by his need to gather more knowledge and more power in these areas and he puts the acquisition of such knowledge above all else.
Likes & Dislikes
Griffith harbors a deep hatred for druids and druid craft. He also despises the peaceful and nature-loving stereotypes about firbolgs and when other people expect him to fit within those assumptions.
Griffith has (to him) a rather embarrassing sweet-tooth. He especially loves small pastries and creampuffs.

Social
Contacts & Relations
Griffith broke off all contact with his clan when he ran away and would prefer to keep it that way. The closest thing he has to a relationship with another person is his relatively friendly, but distant acquaintanceship with the baker in the town near his hut on PLACE NAME.
Wealth & Financial state
Griffith has never had much money as living with a druid clan and later as a hermit are not particularly lucrative.
Religious Views
Griffith knows to be wary of religion and its institutions as he could be put in danger if they found out about his necromantic studies.
