Penned at the reflections of Thejon the Hollow
Rakai, at the home of Mage’s Bloom
I have met the magicians of Mage’s Bloom! Thanks be to Seven for her work orchestrating this meeting.
My first true interview was today, and I met those I will be working with:
. . . . . A gnome – Zippi,
. . . . . a cat-person Tsewen (what a strange name),
. . . . . an adherent of Azel (!) Kaidyn,
. . . . . a demon-born (who also is poor) Täctus,
. . . . . a dragon-mate Iloben,
and myself.
Octavius Gladwell and his apprentices Teddi and Freddi held the interview. The younger magicians gave me an uncomfortable feeling – not to mention the strange races of my “new companions” – but Octavius was professional. I hope to meet him again, and maybe work under him. He mentioned carpentry and metal-work, which would be a breath of fresh air since being on the road for so long. I didn’t think I would miss the forges of Arah, but some part of me does.
They asked about my history, and I was unsure of how to proceed. Thejon forgive me if I was not as up front as you ask of me. I still do not understand the powers you yield me; your direction and intent is clear, but your gifts are not as clear to me. When my new companions asked for a demonstration, was I to set my sword alight? Mend their scars of old? Thejon, I pray for your guidance. You have not failed me yet, ever.
