After the last set of experiments and now months without eating and sleeping…a surreal thought began to occupy my mind,
“What am I?”
Even when the runes of the Oqthcalian civilization weren’t outwardly visible, other unseen transformations were happening in me. Though I no longer slept, my idle thoughts would often drift into the vastness of the knowledge that had been encapsulated into the orb that collided with me while I was in the XPore Plane…
Histories and philosophies; epics and tales of another world. Technologies and religions from a place and time that no longer existed, except within the runes embedded in my…soul.
“Who am I?”
All of the Oqthcalian people and their memories…all of their stories and fairytales…their hopes and dreams…the successes and failures of an entire civilization were aching within the confines of my mortal being.
”Am I mortal?”
Even the memory of Soal’s explosion lingered in my mind — a backward looking view of the star as it erupted…events captured as the last orb which harvested it’s energy snuck away into the vastness of space…heading to Earth…toward me.
The star’s destruction was too much sadness for me to bear. It meant the Oqthcalians had depleted their own star and had caused their own demise…what foolishness, from such an advanced civilization!?!
Surely it could have been stopped!!

“Aaron, what are you doing?!” Jamie screamed as she grabbed my arm and shook me out of my ‘memories’.
My eyes were open, but had been filled with the vastness of space. Blinking several times, I looked at Jamie and saw the terror on her face.
“Aaron, for the last few seconds you have been channeling the runeforce upward into the sky. It’s only 3PM but it is totally dark outside now!”, Jamie was visibly shaken.
With even more worry in her voice, she pointed to her phone, “Just look at the news! You’ve caused an eclipse over North America!!”
Within moments, alerts were triggered by an intrusion on the grounds of the warehouse. Sirens in the building began to ring out as the noise of a battering ram could be heard crashing through the main security gates.
“NAGA is here, Aaron. With this emotional outburst, you’ve told them exactly where we are…and where we keep the XPlore Plane.”, Jamie said as she transformed into Fazer, runes similar to those on Runeforce appearing over portions of her face and hands.
“OK. Then let’s get out of here now!”, I yelled in response. Within moments, I had portaled all of the computers and equipment from the warehouse hangar into the XPlore Plane. With Fazer at the helm, she had already engaged the ship’s perfect invisibility. Thanks to recent upgrades from her time working on the ship, the XPlore Plane was now perfectly invisible to all forms of light and across all radio frequencies, all without making a sound.
Before the NAGA agents were able to break the doors open, the XPlore Plane (now more resembling an Octhqalian cruiser) departed from the hangar.
“Jamie, do you think we can borrow another abandoned warehouse from XPlore Corp?”, I asked jokingly.
“Call me Fazer when I look like this, OK…” she replied wryly. “We have a reputation to keep.”

Fazer smiled as Runeforce sat in the co-pilot’s seat of the XPlore Plane. They flew in near darkness across most of North America, searching for a new place to hide.
