06/27/2022 Session Notes

Strange Tome was discovered in a patchwork section of the dungeon.
The tome is able to produce spells (wow), and according to the design of it, it is designed to unite people and defend them. Symbols relate and look as if they originate from "the deep" and relate to deep sea entitites. Invocation of ancient sea creatures.
I learn FUCK ALL because there are no such things as decent fucking dice rolls. The language is a bit of a toss up, but it can be moderately deciphered. The magic circles are primarily protective in nature (blessings and defense). Split into various sections, with multiple chapters with their own illustrations on each creature. The journal seems to be written by a biologist, with diagrams (vibe wise).

Flip to a certain page within the book; left page is full text, right page is a symbol/recreation of what a certain being looks like. Within the center, is a large eye, surrounded by a small circle, and then a swirling pattern of tentacles and other symbols. I am immediately drawn to the EYE. There is a drawing sensation upon my mind, moreso than the growing curiosity.

Enter a room where flowers are growing. These flowers typically grow around unmarked graves.

The worm we encountered on our expedition was gleamed to have something within its internals. In an attempt to gain more items and potentially gold, we have decided to kill it.

Bryzal; the man we encountered within the cave has a "face-hugger" moment and is turned inside out by a creature within him, killing him instantly. He is subsequently eaten by the worm after being smashed by an unloaded level 3 Scorching Ray, killing him instantly.

The worm was defeated through cunning, ingenuity, dumb luck, and I swear to christ, my rock did a bunch of damage. Painful, everyone almost died.
