Immortals of Ósa

The absolute ruling elite of The Republic, the Immortals are a small group of impossibly powerful mages who have "outgrown death"; they have become so mighty that they can no longer die, almost equivalent to the very Gods themselves according to the belief of many. Generally they prefer to be mostly hands-off, allowing the people to grow and govern themselves, only stepping in when aid is truly needed or genuinely asked for.   Changes to the membership of this group are extremely rare, with most Immortals having served for at least a century, and only two ever known to have retired from their post.

Current Immortals

The First Immortal

Rumours abound of a secret Immortal, one that predates even the birth of Zia during the Archonomachy. It is said they have never left their post, dutifully guiding mortalkind from the shadows even during their darkest moments, and was the one to found the group in the first place. No proof or further information exists beyond speculation, meaning that either the rumours are false, or that this mage is exceptionally skilled at staying hidden.

Zarligantír Kerrhylon

The Immortal of Dragons and Flames. Zarligantír is the most well known Immortal, and is widely believed to be the most powerful as well. He has utmost authority over all fire magic, and has mastered the ability to transform into a full, true, Dragon - the only one in all the known world.

Vhul'xo

The Immortal of Undeath. Vhul'xo is the most active Immortal, regularly using his endless hordes of undead to assist in large scale construction projects. He is the ultimate master of all matters relating to Necromancy and history.

Aesk the Ever-changing

The Immortal of Metamorphosis. Aesk is the wisest Immortal, using their shapeshifting abilities to travel and study everything there is to see in all the world. They are the foremost expert on all transformative magics, able to turn themselves and others into any form imaginable.

Osera Teráka

The Immortal of Blood and Blades. Osera is the most feared Immortal, using her swords and abilities to eviscerate any who unlucky enough to have earned the wrath of the group. She is the pinnacle of blood magic, able to slaughter any foe and heal from any wound.

Past Immortals

No Immortals have ever died (hence the name), but the following two have departed from their group.

The Planeswalker

Believed to have once been the master of conjuration magic - capable of easily navigating between worlds and even shaping them to her wishes. Reports claim that she has even constructed her own realm: an entire afterlife to rival The Underworld and all its connections, where all gain entry to paradise. The reason for her retirement has been the source of great speculation, though it seems related to divinity somehow; The Immortals have outlawed worshipping her as a God, a practice which has grown ever more popular of late.

Telío Alori

The rising star of the Immortals, Telío made history for being the first elf to join, and the fastest to be inducted. He had created a spell which allows the cloning of one's soul and then harvesting it for power, causing him to have such exponential growth that within a year of mastering this spell he had joined the illustrious group. His departure from them only a few short years after joining is not a fact that has been publicised, but even if it were the nature of his leaving is unknown.
