The Meyer-Joyce Field (The Chronon Field)

The Meyer-Joyce field--or as it is more colloquially called, the chronon field--is the embodiment of time itself. The field's messenger particles (chronons) communicate the flow of time, and distortions to space also distort the chronon field.
The chronon field was originally proposed by Will Joyce when he was 19, and with the help of Elton Meyer, he developed the field theory of time.
The chronon field has the ability to manifest several unique near supernatural phenomena, especially Chronon Activity and Chronon Disrupted Lifeforms (Shifters).
In 2016, a time travel experiment gone wrong caused a Fracture in Time, causing the chronon field to begin collapsing to its ground state. Efforts by Jack Joyce and Will Joyce stabilized the field, but many still fear that it was a temporary solution at best. A powerful field sink still exists at the site of the Fracture, so they are likely not wrong.
