|C| The Abbey of Light

Sitting atop the hills of Krezk lies a quaint Abbey, tended to by even stranger fellows...

Progress

The Guardians arrived in the Abbey of Saint Markovia, and were greeted by Otto and Zygfrek Belview, a pair of grotesquely disfigured mutants manning the guardtowers. The two were crass and perverse, but allowed the Guardians entry with minimal incident.
Once inside the grounds, the Guardians were eventually lead to The Abbot, a young, handsome, charming man. The Abbot was teaching a scarred and stitched Lady Vasilka the manners of a woman.
When finding space to settle down for the night, the Guardians met an apprentice monster-hunter, and old flame of Vorthos D'Artagnan, Ezmerelda d'Avenir. She shared that she had just returend from breaking into and out of Castle Ravenloft to save her friend, a werewolf Emil Toranescu.
Suspiciously enough, when the Guardians attempted to leave the grounds they found themselves astonishinly unwilling, except for Ocarin Stonehollow, who seemed unaffected by whatever charm was compelling the others to stay. To prepare to confront The Abbot, the Guardians planned to research the Abbey's past, to learn more about the Lady Vasilka, and Ocarin freed Ezmerelda and Warren Peace from the captive spell.
Unfortunately, while the Guardians were investigating their captor, The Abbot himself returned through a secret teleportation circle in his bedroom. Once returned, The Abbot summoned the Guardians to his dinning hall and revealed his plan to turn them over to the Dreadlord as a gift, along with Vasilka a bride.
The Guardians of the Horizon did not take the news lightly and attacked The Abbot, only for him to command them to end their violence. However, Ocarin continued to resist, prompting The Abbot to attack, only for this attack to reveal a single memory to the undead dwarf.
Emil Toranescu revealed himself to have been Strahd in disguise, and though the Guardians of the Horizon did their best to defeat him, he was still too strong for them. But not for The Abbot. The Abbot was eventually convinced that there might still be hope for Barovia. The deva sacrificed himself to destroy Strahd's body... but not for long.
