Dvarrans
The dvarrans1 are one of the four dwarven ethnic groups of eastern Adynía, along with Dalindreans, Fazeronians and Refonians. Like the latter, they are descendants of the Katargysíans, whose civilization in western Gysikan fell after invasions by human tribes, but unlike them the dvarrans never managed to claim any territory for themselves. Instead they form a significant minority in the coastal states of Gysikan, not unlike the half-elven Góalanics who fled there after Góalanis was conquered by orc tribes.
Dvarran culture has gradually merged with that of the countries they inhabit, so that only the most conservative communities still use their katargysían dialects, mostly in religious context. One of the few common traditions practiced by all dvarran communities is the cult of Kvasíus, the sacred bull associated with fertility and the underworld.
