Gakúnóka is the capital of the Góalanic Federation, located at the confluence of the rivers Bórúm and Garak in southwestern Góalanis. The court was moved there from Nanarr to the northeast during the ninth century a. Paþ, though the kings are traditionally still crowned in the old capital.

Demographics

Most of the inhabitants are góalanic orcs (mostly members of the Hrykkalog tribe who live in the area) or góalanics.

Defences

The city walls are about the only thing which has been maintained since the orcish conquest, especially the southern section which is not shielded by the rivers.

Infrastructure

As in many cities within the federation, most of the building predating the orcish invasions have long since decayed and been replaced by numerous farmsteads, though the original grid plan is still used. Since the court was moved to Gakúnóka, new buildings have been constructed to house the king and his retinue, as well as the assemblies where future rulers are elected.

Architecture

Most of the homes in the city are farmsteads surrounded by dry-stone fences, the main buildings being circular huts with thatched roofs. Nobles inhabit longhouses, some with stone walls, while the king lives in a mansion which combines traditional úrúnic style with some native góalanic and even nemirkían ones.
