Red-Gords

The red-gords1 are a human tribe inhabiting the swamps and woodlands of southeastern Gráhúlysía, bordering the Darka Mountains to the west and south, Lera to the southeast, land of the Sorkótans to the east and those of the Þúls and Dertúlans to the northeast and north, respectively.
They are distant relatives of the White-Gords beyond the Lakú Mountains to the east, and originally lived south of the latter before moving west due to pressure from tribes migrating from the Wild Mountains.

Warfare

Red-Gords have been traditional enemies of the Halinkazíans in Darka Mountains for centuries, ever since the latter began harvesting timber on the edge of their territory to make up for the lack of suitable trees in the mountains.
The name red-gords derives from their warriors' habit of painting their faces and hands red with ochre, and wearing red cloaks into battle. Though they sometimes wield spears, their signature weapon is the axe.
