Anteus Esteban
Archmage Anteus Ambrus Esteban (a.k.a. The Creator)
Anteus Esteban was not born under tragic or lonely circumstances, but in a middle-class family filled with warmth and love. He grew up in a region where magic was a forgotten craft—simple and unremarkable, rarely seen as something powerful or transformative. Fueled by his desire to prove that dreams could become reality, Anteus worked tirelessly, not only to support his parents, but also to show that the arcane arts could reach new heights of creativity and power. Magic was a rare gift in his home, and Anteus made it his mission to revive it, pushing the boundaries of what people thought was possible.
Mastery and Secrets
Through years of relentless study and experimentation, Anteus became one of the most powerful spellcasters the world had ever seen. His true brilliance, however, lay not in the spells everyone knew, but in the dangerous and innovative magic he crafted in secret. Driven by a desire to unlock the full potential of the arcane, Anteus pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible, creating new spells and magical constructs that defied conventional understanding. Despite his growing influence he kept these creations hidden, fearful of their dangerous power and the consequences of revealing them to the public. His discoveries were groundbreaking, but Anteus knew that exposing them could bring destruction, not just to himself but to the world around him.A King’s Greed and a World’s Collapse
As Anteus’s power grew, so too did the fear and envy of others. A king, intrigued by Anteus’s abilities, sought to control him or, failing that, seize his blood, notes, and magic to replicate his strength. People close to Anteus became targets, and, realizing that no place was truly safe, he fled. But even with his magical defenses, Anteus could not escape. Other spellcasters learned to track him, bypassing his hidden sanctuaries. Desperate, Anteus resorted to casting a spell unlike any before—a world-altering act that would tear apart his home world, creating a new dimension in an attempt to save himself and those he loved from the threat of his powers falling into the wrong hands.A Miscalculated Escape
Anteus’s original plan was simple: create a pocket dimension for himself to escape from the dangers surrounding him. However, the sheer scale of the spell and the chaotic effects of wild magic led to an unintended disaster. What was meant to be a secluded sanctuary became a prison for an entire region, which was pulled along with him into the newly formed demi-plane—Aerion. This tragic accident marked the beginning of Anteus’s guilt-ridden path. The very people he sought to protect were now exiled with him, and his best efforts to stabilize the new world only resulted in further harm, such as the creation of the Taint—an anomaly later tied to the Voidwake. The End of the Dream
Despite his best efforts to stabilize Aerion and keep the world habitable, Anteus found himself repeating the same cycle of unintended consequences. His attempts to protect those he inadvertently doomed led him to the painful realization that his magic, once the very essence of his power and dreams, had caused more harm than good. In the end, Anteus made the hardest decision of his life—he abandoned magic altogether. No longer able to separate his noble intentions from the devastating results, he gave up his lifelong pursuit of becoming a wizard bound only by his own creativity and power. He realized that, despite all his mastery, he had reached the limits of what his abilities could accomplish. His final act was not one of redemption, but of accepting the consequences of his actions and vowing to stop the cycle of harm he had set in motion.Physical Description

Mental characteristics
Personal history
After a lifetime of spell creation, experimenting and in the end causing the void to inhabit Aerion, Anteus put down his magical tools and decided to retire as a wizard. He tore down his once legendary and magically created tower and started to built one with his own hands. The Crooked Tower was born, not even worth being called a shadow of its former self, but erected without the use of any... well barely any magic.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- The creation of the pocket dimension Aerion during the Tear
- The creation of the Azuremist during his experiments with new spells and vast usage of arcane magic throughout the years.
- The creation of the Elderin as a race, to become the keepers and protectors of the plane
Failures & Embarrassments
- The creation of the Void, which later also lead to other anomalies in the world, that the Elderin needed to take care off.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Anteus's primary motivation in Aerion is to stabilize the new world he inadvertently created, ensuring its survival and the survival of those who were trapped with him after the Tear. Despite his guilt over causing their exile, his focus has shifted to preserving the fragile plane and its inhabitants, as he believes that without this stability, everything—including his own safety—will be lost.
At the heart of his actions is a deep sense of responsibility. Anteus feels a moral obligation to protect the people who were affected by his spell, despite the unintended harm he caused. The creation of the Elderin as protectors and keepers of the plane is a manifestation of this desire to safeguard Aerion from further chaos and destruction.
However, Anteus is also motivated by a need for personal peace. Having abandoned magic after realizing the disastrous consequences of his unchecked power, he is desperate to prevent history from repeating itself. He aims to stop the cycle of unintended harm and avoid further use of magic unless absolutely necessary, hoping that by stabilizing Aerion, he can find closure and stop the destructive chain of events that began with his attempt to escape.
Ultimately, Anteus's motivations are a balance of protecting the world he created and atoning for his past, while striving to find a way to keep the world safe without falling into the same mistakes that defined his earlier life.
