Located in the city of Evernil in the Elven Kingdom of Ansari, it is considered the greatest school of wizardry in the world. To gain acceptance into the school is an incredible honor and very hard to achieve as the administration is very selective.

The name is an homage to the Moonstone Palace in Allyndi, the home of The Elvrae, gods of the Elves. The site of its construction was touched by Everday during the Elves great ritual that brought them to the Material Plane, making its connection to the Fabric of Aero more prominent.
It is said that The Towers were magically constructed from eight moonstones from the inner base of the Palace that were brought to Evernil by Seylee, goddess of the moon. Each stone bore a tower, eight towers for the eight Divisions of Magic. They adjoin in various ways to the center great halls, courtyards, and dormitories.
The structure's outer walls and base are built into the mountain. Its heights rise to overlook Athelnodel Lake. In fact, some views are positioned in ways to intensify one's connection to the Fabric of Aero.

Known as a vast resource, The Towers are highly respected. Many humans have sought The Towers' counsel in political matters. This consultation has greatly influenced the human political map. Most of the other elven kingdoms don't approve of Moonstone being so open to the rest of the world, Mondorlyan being the most vocal in their dislike.

The Towers stance on being open to teaching non-elven students (if they qualify to attend) is more out of ensuring that individuals that have the greatest promise with natural abilities in magic are taught to use it responsibly. And, they reassure the Elven Court that they keep things unrevealed to their pupils that would endanger Elvish culture.
Visitors to the facility must be accompanied by a current student, alum, or faculty member as it's unsafe for the untrained to wonder the grounds.

While Moonstone is a great positive icon of Aethos, it's original construction was for the purpose of The Severance, the act of cutting off the Dark Elves from Elphayme's Grace. The Moonstone Towers stand as a beacon of knowledge and also as a warning to those that betray Elphayme.
