Chalon

Chalan is a disputed deity whose said to appear as a skeleton in dark robes only to those who are about to die alone. He is the deity of death, less for any control over the afterlife than that his appearances have only been recorded in such a time. He has little other interference with the physical realm and little is known about him with some disputing whether he is a deity or just a character of folklore.   Chalan doesn’t come to those who summon him and leaves no mark of his presence and as such few clerics can cite him as their deity. His existence is only known through conversations with other deities who have encountered him though even they rarely have much to offer.

Artifacts

Many items have been attribute to Chalon such as the infamous Larashel Necronomicon and Amarel's Crown of Splinters. In truth none of these are related to Chalon and no specific artefacts have been left by the deity of death due in no small part to his minimal presence on the Realm of Balance.

Tenets of Faith

The Final Prayer
Hear me Traveller, Hear me at the end For death is the end of life, Yet death should be peaceful dear traveller, and death should be just dear traveller, So hear my plea dear traveller, if it comes let this death be necessary
  Funeral Rights
As the deity of death all ends are connected to Chalon who guides the fallen to their next path. A charcoal token is often buried, burned or otherwise placed alongside the body as it enters its next stage to call the reaper to its duty.

Holidays

The Feast Day of Chal    Celebrated on the 15th of Chal the feast day is not so often celebrated as the other feast days and rarely with a grand feast. The customs are however oft still followed over the month:
  • No one is allowed to be alone on the feast day
  • If a family member is close to death their family must gather to their side
  • Any dying man to come to a home must be taken in and cared for over the month of Chal
