Ethereal Plane

The Ethereal Plane refers to the thin veils that surrounds each of the realms. Within the Ethereal Plane spirits of the fallen linger until they are able to pass on to their afterlife within the Void as such it is a place of spirits where ones physical body is left behind unless forced into it, temporarily, by magical means. 
The Ethereal Plane is believed to be a cold place of black and white smoke that clouds every object and person in a wispy shifting form. The only entities to dwell in this realm are Ghosts most of whom remain hoping that they will be returned to life by their friends and allies. One can however only dwell for so long amidst the Ethereal Plane before they are drawn onto the next realm however they came there and those that remain too long are transformed into vindictive and cruel creatures desperately clinging to the fragments of what they once were.
