Patriarch of the Falaran Tathamite Church

The Patriarchs of the Falaran Tathamite Church were the highest ranking clergy of the church beneath the Grand Cleric who they were responsible for electing from amongst the faithful. The Patriarchs each governed over a diocese which was traditionally a kingdom within the Falaran Empire but sometimes consisted of half a larger region or multiple states in the colonial regions. 
Senior Patriarchs were granted special purviews such as Defence, Exorcism, Finance or other fields that required a fuller examination by the church. Some of these fields also granted additional powers or oversight to a group such as the Patriarch of Defence possessing greater authority over the Templar Order.

Appointment

Patriarchs were appointed at the will of the Grand Cleric and often under the advise of the other Patriarchs who in turn were given recommendations by assorted clergy within their number. Prior to appointment Patriarchs were investigated by a member of the Inquisition who ensured they were devout and worthy of the title upon which they were to be assigned.
