The Excoriation

Summary

The Excoriation was the end of the Jade Empire which continued to exist in a distant nominal manner with the throne of the land claimed often by numerous simultaneous sovereigns. 
Legends tell that one of the vestiges seduced and corrupted the Jade Emperor into the belief that Zufujing and Cungimuss did not seek to aid Renmin but instead had for centuries been manipulating the Jade Emperors into their puppets. Enraged by this treachery the Jade Emperor found heroes from across the Jade Empire and joined them in slaying his former advisors. 
Slaying first Zufujing whose honour guard did not think to challenge the Jade Emperor and his heroes until it was to late the heroes departed to fight Cungimuss whose band of Illithid kin denied the Jade Emperor access reminding the sovereign that the hive could speak through any. The bloody battle that followed cost many lives yet upon Cungimuss' death a time of great change came and the band turned on the Jade Emperor. Fearing for his champion's life the vestige released its full power transforming Taigol into a demiplane of dread that would come to be known as I'Cath.
