Renmin

The illustrious land of Renmin is one of the continents of Aesalia ruled over by the Jade Empire and its grand Jade Emperor. The capitol of Renmin is the Great City of Taigol that is famed for its place of power.   Renmin while controlled by the Jade Empire is divided into four kingdoms beneath it. These are the kingdoms of , Imūgi, Raijū, Kūbai. Each controls roughly a quarter of the island and each is known and bound to the will of the Jade Emperor.   is a glorious kingdom of culture, sophistication and elegance that has long dominated the continent. The bureaucracy and practices of this place are known throughout the land and many of the political structures, laws and traditions across the continent trace their routes to . makes up much of the bureaucratic apparatus of the Jade Empire earning the ire of their neighbors but the affection of the Jade Emperor.   Imūgi is a land of study and research that has a long and contentious relationship with its northern neighbour . Imūgi has at several moments been occupied, assaulted or raided by its northern neighbour who has justified their aggression with allegations that Imūgi seeks independence from their kin. The Jade Emperor has long relied of Imūgi to lead their scholastic efforts and push the continent towards its future.   Raijū is a land of honour and nobility whose people though owning the smallest share of land are no strangers to power. Resisting the incursions of and the Kūbai hordes the people of Raijū live amidst a land filled with rivers enough so that some call it the 'Island Kingdoms' for its many bridge connections. The people of Raijū are admired by the Jade Emperor for their great navy that patrols and protects Taigol from its enemies.   Kūbai is a place of little love compared to the other lands. It's horse lords roam fiercely across the land moving their settlements with them. The Khan of the Kūbai is chosen during a grand moot from the greatest warrior and can be challenged at any time yet the migrant life allows these people to be expert couriers often earning praise and affection from the Jade Emperor for their contributions to the movement of wares, people, words and thoughts around Taigol.
