Athara

Athara is the capital of the Principality of Jahannam, and the home of the Iblisi family. It is the source of all of the rivers in Jahannam and is one of the few places where Marids live in close proximity to other types of Djinn, albeit still segregated from them.

Demographics

Athara is inhabited almost entirely by various Djinn. Who gains entrance to the city is strictly controlled by the Iblisi family, except in the case of Marids, who are all free to come and go as they please.

Defences

Athara has a large moat, which is connected to the rivers flowing out of the city. This used to be around the outside of the city, but the city has since grown, and now it is near the middle. Like all other water sources in Jahannam, the moat and rivers are guarded by Marids. In addition to this, Athara has two walls, one on the edge of the city, and one within, behind the moat. Each wall is lined with towers and has three gatehouses.

Infrastructure

The roads within Athara are moderately well-maintained, and those outside of Athara are poorly-maintained.

Geography

Athara is significantly different from the rest of Jahannam. For starters, Athara is cold all of the time, enough to be uncomfortable, but not freezing. In addition to this, the sky in Athara is always overcast, and it rains quite frequently, usually at least three or four days out of the week. It is for this reason that Athara is the source of all rivers in Jahannam.
