The Harbormaster's Registry

Each Captain has to check in after docking but prior to removal of anything else. As they're at the Harbormaster, there's a crew of Mariner Guards that ensure nothing enters it exits the ship until authorized. The Captain must register themselves, their ship, cargo, passengers, and crew.

Purpose / Function

Its main purpose is regulation and record of the people and goods that are allowed to enter the city.

Architecture

Simple, beautiful red brick stonework.

Issuing Identification Papers:
1. **Personal Information:** Basic details such as name, age, gender, race, and physical description (height, weight, distinguishing features).
2. **Origin and Residence:** Details about the character's place of birth or origin, as well as their current residence or place of stay in Sezani. Proof of last residence, by way of contact if necessary.
3. **Occupation or Affiliation:** Indication of the character's occupation, guild membership, or any affiliations that might be relevant. This could include references from employers, guild leaders, or other trusted individuals.
4. **Appearance:** Sketches or descriptions of the person's appearance, including any notable features, scars, tattoos, or magical markings. They ensure to mark if the person can shapeshift or disguise themselves naturally.
5. **Signature or Seal:** A signature from the Harbormaster or Head of Customs, and a magical wax stamp to authenticate the document and prevent forgery.
6. **Witness Testimony:** Testimony from witnesses or individuals who can vouch for the character's identity, such as friends, acquaintances, guilds, or local authorities.
7. **Verification Process:** The documents need to undergo a verification process with the other (Head of Customs and Harbormaster), involving cross-referencing with existing records or magical means of confirmation.
8. **Expiration and Renewal:** The papers don't have an expiration date outside of Sezani, but within the city it's two years to renew paperwork. Outside of Sezani, folks are a bit more flexible on the date of issue.
