The Cael Bastion
Built atop Cloudburst Mountain, The Cael Bastion is an infamous location, constructed between the border of The Foghorn Hills and Sahrian Union, known for being the fortress that the exiles The Ignari are sent. Maintained entirely by a singular, sentient warden and an army of golems and animated statues, the Cael Bastion is entirely neutral. It has only maintained it neutrality through its sheer military might, along with being the only place that can withstand the anomaly of the The Nichteil, which the Bastion sits upon the portal of.
Many commoners, and even a fair number of nobles are entirely unaware of the Cael Bastion and the Nichteil, with its existence being more so a myth than a known fact. Only monarchs, or those privy to an abundance of niche information that also possess a great amount of influence are capable of interacting with the warden of the Bastion.
Nearly nothing is known about the warden. All that is known is that they go by the Scribe, and that they were appointed by the Speakers of the Nichteil. Even the Azure Owls know little about this mysterious figure, and many theorise that the being isn't even a mortal. None have reported actually seeing the Scribe, despite them ruling the Bastion. They are largely known for communicating through the golems or other animated statues, causing theories to circulate that the Scribe is just a spirit, forced to work the Bastion for all eternity by the Speakers.
