The Foghorn Hills
More commonly known as simply Foghorn, The Foghorn Hills used to simply encompass The Kathoid Range of mountains, but has slowly expanded outwards to gain more land after trade deals with the many city states of the now Sahrian Union fell through due to ignition of the Sahrian War. The dwarves have expanded outwards, forming villages and towns out of smaller rock formations, valleys or even hills leading to the populous of the new towns being called hill dwarves and the populous of the dwarven high society still living in the mountains of the Kathoid Range being called mountain dwarves.
The dwarves of Foghorn largely keep to themselves, causing many who wish for more to journey to Alderhardt instead. Despite this, the cities and towns of Foghorn remain full of the dwarves, living in their great cities carved from stone. The cave systems dug out run deep, leading to the Underdark below, and, above the mountain summits themselves lie monasteries of monks, established long before the dwarves' expansion. Small settlements of aarakocra are also built on the along the slopes of these mountains and, due to them largely keeping to themselves, many dwarves largely ignore the aarakocra, unless they leave the mountain tops and enter the dwarves' territory.
Culture
Before they became their own independent, self sufficient country, the dwarves of Foghorns were known to be a culture of both creation and war, especially given how small and condescended their territory is, but as they began to create their own produce, they strayed away from their warring ways. Instead, they began to become inventors and traders, selling their materials and luxury goods to other countries, becoming quite affluent as a result. As to be expected, the dwarves worship their patron god, Bharmor, the First Dwarf, as he is known to be both a warrior and a figure of the forge.
Assets
The dwarves are known for their technology, inventions and marvelous stone work. Although many of their outlying villages are far more rural, the main dwavern keeps within The Kathoid Range are truly a sight to behold, being an impregnable fortress with more defences than many others could even fathom. Despite no longer being as warrior orientated as they once were, the dwarves are still a hardy lot, and none are their equal in halls of stone, especially with their specialised tools at their disposal.
History
Foghorn, for as long as anyone can remember, has been the ancestral home to the dwarves, with some even going so far to say the Bharmor, the First Dwarf actually used the heart of the mountains of the Kathoid Range to forge the dwarves. There are jokes corresponding to this tale, with people saying that an earthquake occurred when the creation began, causing them to be made far more squat than intended. Outside of the jokes, there is some truth to the Kathoid Range being used to make the dwarves, as the dwarves have never known any home outside of the lands of Foghorn.
