The Tirmari Archipelago

A popular destination for many who wish for a slice of tropical paradise, The Tirmari Archipelago is a country that encompasses many islands to the south of Alderhardt. It is considered quite the marvel among the other nations, as its main society is on its largest isle, the Isle of Kosmimata, with the other, smaller isles being home to the more tribal, 'backwater' civilisation, such as the Isle of Pithíkon being home to a culture of monks. Because of this, Tirmar is a melting pot of many diverse cultures, some that you won't see in any other country throughout The Continent  Because of the island nature of the country's geography, outside of the few cities there are, most of the country is made up of idealistic, somewhat rural villages dotted throughout the land. The cities that are there are largely coast; however, much of the country's population is actually located on Zafeíri, the capital, with that city in particular being one of the largest in the entire Continent.

Culture

Tirmar's culture is a culture based around freedom. Freedom of religion, and freedom in leadership. This is why the country is the only one in The Continent that has a proper diplomatic government, being run by The Tirmari Council. With very few exceptions, most gods can be worshipped here, which has surprisingly led to fewer zealots, as the religious freedom has led to many simply being more docile about their religion. They've not much of a military either, with much of their culture being based around trade and entertainment, due to being a popular tourist destination.

Assets

In the way of military, Tirmar has just enough for most to not want to face them in combat if possible, but not enough to be a military super power by any means. What has kept them safe is their storied history as traders and merchants, which has led to them being neutral since their founding. Because of this, any that would invade Tirmar have avoided it, due to the trade links meaning that other countries would rush to their aid in order to keep their own citizens safe. They also have access to Carrius Simara, a higher vampire that is the head of a vampiric clan, which includes the other higher vampires of his Bloodwell and a host of gargoyles, making an invasion of the capital undesirable.

History

It is said that Tirmar was founded by those that had been contacted by Filodoxia, The Ascended, wanting mortals to follow her example of doing whatever they pleased and accomplishing any desire they had. It is coincidence then, that these founding figures were tieflings, and that Tirmar is known for tiefling population. These people, being so free of will, spread this universal understanding to native monks and even beasts, welcoming all to their new country. Even The Nashuto who sought asylum were welcomed, forming quite the strong bond between their people.
