Local Style

Many specialized forms of combat evolved throughout the Alcirya in various locations. If a character comes from an area where a unique form of combat has evolved, she may spend a weapon proficiency slot to specialize in that form of fighting.

Some examples of specialized fighting styles include: rapier and main-gauche, sabre, fighting sticks or nunchuks, katana and wakizashi, and so on.

The set of skills that can be learned and requirements to practice can be developed with the DM (regardless of them being labeled as "None") to be reflective of the culture the fighting style was developed in; however, access should be kept basic and should not include access to "powers" except in rare curcumstances. In Lieu of developing a new style, a player may simply choose a benefit listed below.

  • -1 A.C.
  • +1 Attack
  • the ability to make a free block or trap maneuver without spending an attack to do so
  • the negation of penalties for fighting with two weapons
  • A free unarmed, specialized punch or kick (for example: Roundhouse Kick)
