Bishop
Presbyters of the North
Bishops are the highest-ranking clerical member that work with the layman of the Trijan faith known as the Church. They are responsible for the governance of districts within a Diocese of the Northern Trijan Church. This usually comes in the form of having oversight over several churches or temples in cities along with their surrounding areas. They act as the local voice of the diocese Archbishop. Trijan doctrine grant bishops the full power to ordain new priest and clerics into service to the church.
A bishop may be of either sex, male or female, and a good standing priest of the faith. When a position opens up a candidate is nominated by other bishops in the diocese. Reviewed by the archbishop, the candidate is either rejected or elected to the position at the archbishop's discretion. An archbishop also has the ability to remove the bishop title from any that fall short of the faith and doctrine of the Church. This is rare however, and often requires a trial to prove the need for such a drastic measure.
As priest of the Trijan faith, albeit of a high rank, bishops wear robes similar to their lower ranking counterparts. While priest wear robes of a blue shade and copper or bronze trim based on their assignment and duties within the Church, bishop robes are uniform. Men where a grey-blue robe with golden trim, with a copper and gold pellegrina resting on the shoulders. Female bishops, as with most women of the faith, wear a white robe trimmed in gold, a bronze and gold shawl covering their heads.
