Glasbury Falls

Rudhunn's Headwater

Though the Redhand River runs another ten to fifteen miles upstream, through northern Simmer Wood, most in Toemanshire consider Glassbury Falls as the source of the river. That is if any both to journey to, or think about the falls at all. Sometimes refered to as Redhand Falls, this series of waterfalls is located at the western end of the Redhand River valley in Lhakamed and stands largely forgotten by the dwellers of the land today.

The falls and its lowlands are an overgrown region, thick and difficult to navigate, home to an abundance of avian life. The steep slopes along the river and the rocky cliffs of the surrounding Areian Peaks foothills make the falls difficult to reach. Those that do travel to the remote falls claim it a tranquil landscape. The river below the falls is swift, but deep and calm at the surface. Its waters often covered in a cool mist, even in the heat of summer.

While it is difficult to get to the lower falls, the upper falls that are near impossible to reach without flight. Glasbury Falls run continuously upward for about a mile, in steps, through steep rocky craigs and valleys until finally emerging into the shallow wide waters of upper Redhand River and the thick forest valley of the Simmer Wood. Rumors of hidden caves and underwater caverns below the churning waters are the stuff tavern legend. For those that have managed to reach the rapids filled craigs and returned, tell only of finding the bones of those that failed to find hidden Elf treasure.
