Gul Tora (GAWL tour ah)
the Ruin of Toeman
The ruins known today as Gul Tora, its ancient name lost to history, resides in the hilly lowlands of the Scaro Wilds of the Thoamaine Peninsula in Tinjir. Believed to be Elf in origin, little remains beyond its stone foundations that surround a central Ama Tree, and some scattered stone structures on the hills around the lost city.
At its heart, like nearly all ancient elven cities is an ama tree, Ama Tora. The tree's top half has been sheared off, lost some time in history. Though the tree still seems to have life within, it no longer grows. Mosses, grass, and vibrant shrubby cover its trucks in the modern day, giving some that see it the sense that it is just a tall steep hill or other rock formation. Around the tree's raised base is a fortress, ruined but partially rebuilt by the Orc that dwell at the site. At some point in history the tree was sheared in half, and today a small castle, that is the seat of power for the Ruk Orchold, sits at its top.
All records of Gul Tora's earliest history are lost. The common consensus is that it was the captial of Mya Toeman Mair of the Areian Nations. Believed damaged or destroyed during Dragonfall, the city was rebuilt after the Black Collapse and remained a vibrant Human city in south central Thoamaine through much of its history until being destroyed by the Umaybbad invasions. After which it fell out of use and history until orcs moved into the region. As stated above, today it is under Ruk control.
