Rabasa

Queen Mother of Hydossia

Rabasa of the Salemona dynasty is the current queen of the nation of Hydossia in the southern region of eastern Anbar on the major continent of Ethae. She has reigned for 64 years at of this recording in 6881sc. While in the early years of her reign she made appearances across her country, even leading her army in battle, in the recent decades she is rarely seen outside of her palace of Amytis in central Hydossia, south of Mahal Peak. Most of her contact with her people is through her daughters and stewards.

Rumors of Rabasa being a powerful using the Shadow of Magic are common. This is used at a negative by outsiders to claim her an evil witch. It is seen as a matter of pride by the Hydossa people, even those outsider her country. A positive view of how powerful their queen is to protect them and never fall to the evils of the darker sides of magic. It is also used as a deterrent of attack. Hydossia's enemies fear the unknown power she may hold. Rumors also claim her older that she is. Claiming her as hundreds of years old and founder of Hydossia. Of course, there are just as many other rumors claiming she is long dead and replaced in name by one of her daughters, or even granddaughters.

Though rarely seen outside of Amytis, Rabasa is known to be fond of, and appear before, adventurers in her queendom. She will give out quests for these brave bands. Sometimes seeking an ancient artifact, other times simple tasks, such as protecting a village on the Kal Kissuti border. Her rewards to these heroes are always generous and catered to their inner desires. Rumors that many of her sons, unable to abstain any political power like the daughters, have traveled the world as adventures themselves. Just as many rumors claim several of her daughters as the children of past adventures, with her granting a night in her bed a rewarded desire.

As with most of her existence, she never indulges answers about herself. Nor does she ever respond to rumors. "To be unknown is to be unconquerable" is her greatest teaching to her daughters.
