A Shadowfell is a location on Aldern where the barriers between the material world and the Etu Enur (the Plane of Shadows) is weaker and one can access the region of Enur that holds Etu Enur. This is usually a location that has suffered a catastrophic Magic event sometime in the past, such as the ancient location of Noch where, according to legend, the battles of the Aggelomachy left scars in reality.

Shadowfells are dark places where light seems to dim, and colors fade away. An eternal mist confuses travelers. Etu Enur bleeds its despair into the land. Entering a Shadowfell does not mean one will suddenly find themselves in the Shadow Realm. These locations bonds Etu Enur to Aldern however, and with the right magics they are the locations one can physically travel between Etu Enur and Aldern.
