Trijan Priest
Shepards of the Faithful
A priest (priestess if female) is an ordained member of the clergy of the Trijan faith known as the Church. For the Trijan, priests are ranking clergy that are assigned and stationed to a particular church or temple, and it is their duty to tend to the spiritual needs of the community of their church. It is their duty to preform services at the church, including rites and ceremonies.
In the Anbar diocese it is a tradition that only men may obtain the title of priest from the Church. For the rest of the Northern Trijan Church however, an equal standing between men and women encoded in their doctrine. Some variation of this is allowed in their law. In the Heartlands of Novyum it is tradition that churches and temples be led by married priestly couple, who act as coleaders. This same tradition does not apply in the Diocese of Slavyum where a sole priest or priestess will lead their fellow clergy.
There is no universal priestly uniform for Trijan priests. Traditional garments are loose flowing robes that reach the ground, covering the feet. For men, various shades of blue are the most common color, depending on diocese, holy order, or special service within the Church. Women are always dressed in white regardless of any of these factors, though some pieces of the robes can sport colors, again depending on the services done within the Church. The exception of women's white robes come in the role of the cardinalis, who are always in red. For both genders, bronze and copper highlights are threaded into the trim of the robes as well as shawls, sashes, scapular, etc. Women, regardless of the order or role, are expended to cover their heads, hiding their hair with habits, shawls or other coverings. Though this is a universal expectation, it is not a rule within the northern church and some priestess, especially in hot Anbar are choosing to not follow this tradition.
