Balvast Kalderon Tevara (a.k.a. The Iron Dragon)
The Father of Kartalos and Alizain who was slain by the Fire Giants when he attempted to free his family. He was a very resilient dragon, abused all his life by his masters to the point where his once gleaming red scales were blackened and scorched from brands and the full body bruising he suffered on a regular basis.
He and met Kaina when he was purchased by a noble within the City of Brass. They spent several Centuries enslaved together, growing close in their misery and eventually falling for one another by virtue of being the only ones to last together for so long. Balvast was noted by many of the Dragons within the City of Brass as "The Most Regal non Regal Dragon" for he would defend and protect others at cost to himself. He took hits from other's masters that left him heavily injured, whenever he could prevent injury to another. This accumulated over centuries to him developing near total blindness, only able to see the vaguest outlines of objects or individuals, as well as mild case of memory loss. But even with these he pressed on, earning Kaina a status as his owner's Archivist and near total safety from abuse.
When his master was killed and his and his family's contracts were able to be nullified by simply destroying them he attempted to fight off his oppressors, slaying half of the group of twenty Fire Giants that had come to sell he and his family off before one of the Fire Giant Warlords managed to slain him by severing his neck, in front of his Mate and Daughter.
His primary duties where to transport Cargo and goods for his master as his blindness made him unfit for most skilled labor, and so he was frequent sight at many of the many foundries within the City and he was a good friend of Rustean Aldlith, who acknowledged him as an honorary brother. Many of the Dragons within the City of Brass wept when they learned of his Death.
