Human
A varied and populous race, they can be found across the planet in all kinds of groups, from nomads to founders of great cities. Humans are extremely varied and adaptable to nearly any clime. They are also the most likely to go on expeditions to found colonies or go exploring just to do so. Human nomads and small enclaves can be found living in hobgoblin areas, in the jungles with lizardfolk, monasteries in Githzeria colonies, mines of dwarves, towers of elven cities, or nearly anywhere.
Human ambition to do good and evil, great and small deeds has caused many upheavals across Alterra.
Goblins and Kobolds are the only creatures that breed faster than humans. Humans, regardless of culture, have large and extended families. They also will be the founders of organizations and institutions, even when their benefit is not the sole driver.
"All humans are from Atlantis, not all humans are Atlanteans" is a common saying among other races, noting they will adapt to wherever they are.

History
Humans come from the planet Atlantis, the origin of several star spanning empires. They were mostly interested in trade and exploration. Eventually they came across the Star Walker civilization and here they spread even farther, settling on alien worlds and adapting.
There were many human groups on the ark, but the majority were Atlanteans. These peoples took a clear mandate to reestablish Atlantis on Alterra. The minorities no atlantean in origin, the far flung colonists, and those that had lived on alien worlds for centuries went their own ways; some joining the Soki, some the elves, some the dwarves. The remainder gathered up the left over survivors and lead them and these mixed peoples became the Ayorhah.
